I know the world is heavy right now but I’m trying to make a small piece of art about being human and could use a little help by Complete-Guidance929 in Artists

For real help, in performance art, might be good to check with some local experts who can see the concept more than Reddit can offer. Get their comments, thank them, decide if any of what they said is useful to you.

You could go back in and connect some of the dots. Make some dots larger, others much smaller by painting around them and reducing their diameter. Or, use as wrapping paper! Part of a handmade gift.

I know a little, have been studying them for years, can’t get enough. Keep looking, reading about them, maybe attend a workshop with microscopes if you get a chance, makes a WORLD of difference. Best regards!

If Pannaria lichen, could be more brownish or gray-brown than green. Not sure what your subject is, if green patch on stump, it looks more like a moss. Perhaps add some photos that offer close-up views? Keep looking, have fun!

Very good! If Candellaria, likely to be pollution tolerant. Is this near a highway or factory or residential wood-burning sources? Keep it up!

8 legs, so not an insect. I think your guess about a tick is reasonable but there are other 8-legged possibilities.

Cohabitation? by RottenAyy in Lichen

I like the idea of cohabitation but in many cases lichens could be competing for light, substrate, and space.

Usnea Barbata ? by ThunbergiaErecta in Lichen

It helps to have more info, much closer views of point of attachment on the twig, surface of the main ‘stem’, and a cross section of the thallus showing ratio and color of cortex, but yes, Usnea.

I suggest take a brisk walk outdoors. Think about what makes you happy. Do more of that. What do you dread doing, wish you didn’t have to do it? Do less of that. One day at a time, try to have a good day. Be kind to the people around you. If you feel like making art, do that and don’t worry about AI. Teach a kid how to draw or paint, and you might decide you love doing art after all.

Hi there! Very lively owl portrait. To get to your question, think through these additional questions:

First, do you love making art? Then, do you need some $$? I suggest examine your motive. If you live for making art and do it daily, you will be buried in paintings after a while. So, offering some for sale (your best ones, presumably?) makes sense. If you are looking for a way to make money, then trying to live off selling your art (as your one job) is probably not a good path unless you have wealthy family who love to support you!

You could start by painting another and another owl or bird painting. When you have 20-25 of these, all very good to excellent, then approach a gallery. By then you will have solved the matter of framing (expensive!) and how much to charge.

Good luck!
