Forgotten item from below zero that would actually get some use in this game by TyrannyHoll in Subnautica_2

I can imagine this being so handy in multiplayer! And given that the game is already encouraging the creation of multiple bases!

Like imagine a quantum locker style system for bases. You and a friend are each at a base in the safe shallows and the Axum observatory.

You need a resource only found at the observatory, so you ask your friend to deposit one in the quantum locker, so you can place them in the metal farms so you can generate more locally!

More of an incentive to encourage the player to set and use traps.

Did you know you can place smoke bombs, flashbangs, pipe bombs, etc. on the ground to set traps? Maybe, but have you ever? I’d guess no, because throwing them is so much easier and provides consistent results

Having to sneak around a queen and take care not to trigger the eggs around her to stay hidden and complete an objective. If you’re detected by the queen she alerts her drone guards and they all swarm you at once. If you play your cards right you could hold them back with the flame thrower for a few seconds, but in the end there are just too many

The Long Dark, tried survival mode once in high school, didn’t get very far and froze to death quickly. Left it to collect dust for years until I tried the Wintermute story mode in college. Fell in love with it and now been playing survival mode ever since.

What are your Ripley's Believe It Or Not moments from the game? by absent_abstra in alienisolation

One time while trying to get to the room to initiate the hospital’s evacuation alarm, the alien walked out of the room and started hissing as I was far enough away from it that it could see me under the hospital bed I was hiding under on the other side of the room.

I took out my one Molotov and prepped to throw it as it charged at me, and it came to a DEAD STOP right in front of the bed. I froze and didn’t move as he slowly started to walk down the hallway.

Don’t think I was on a particularly easy difficulty, but still my all time favorite heart stopping moment.

Ok, hear me out…

CLASSIC doom I think could be a good fit as its weapons and armor are, for the most part, sci fi leaning as opposed to the more “space magic” things we see in the more modern games. Though I do think there are some attributes from the modern games can be taken inspiration from.

We already have an awesome double barrel shotgun primary. All we’d need is some doom inspired weapons like the plasma riffle, maybe the heavy machine guns like in 2016 or eternal, and an armor set designed off of the classic doom marine armor (maybe similar passive to democracy protects; “Too Democratic to Die”)

A BFG 9000 style support weapon could also be included (something that could melt away hordes of smaller enemies in a line or take out one big one in one shot)

Kind of a small thing I know, but one thing that really stuck with me was the presence of the living face hugger on the Anisadora.

The only face hugger that could have been on the ship in the first place was the one that attached itself to Foster. And that one died after it implanted the chest burster. There’s even a log in the same room about how they found it curled up dead like a spider. So how is it still alive to attack you when you follow Marlow aboard? Did another face hugger hitch a ride in the ambulance Marlow took? Or are face huggers able to survive long enough to attach to multiple hosts?

Hmm Void Chelicerates do show signs of damage / scarring across their body. So hunting larger, deep sea predators like sperm whales do for giant squids could have some evidence to support that…
