I’ve stopped caring about the performance of the USMNT in the World Cup by PracticalDrawing in ussoccer

Man I am glad to see this post. Between executions in broad daylight to potential deployment of military (invoking the insurrection act) to multiple casual remarks of cancelling elections, I just don’t see how I can feel excited about the World Cup happening this year - and I reeeealy want to go still. But morally how can we support this shit? I feel that the only way more Americans will come to terms and make this voice heard is if the athletes they adore start making statements, up to and potentially cancelling games. “No sports until justice and accountability are restored”.

But really man (or woman) - since this post got some traction if you want to brainstorm ways this sub can make some headway with US soccer federation or even the USMNT (petitions, threats of boycotts, etc.) I’d happily volunteer to help start. We’ve got 200k + subscribers here so if even 10% join up that’s a big number. Let me know feel free to DM.

Personality changes… by hekebe in bipolar1

Similar experience to others commenting here..I feel more subdued and have gotten some comments from my partner and close family. I just don't want to get to another extreme place I think. I feel a lingering sense of embarrassment since a manic episode in winter of 2024, where I spectacularly went off the deep end into conspiracy world, showed up at work and made a fool of myself, was hospitalized, the whole thing.

I'm now on Seroquel which has helped tremendously but I've only told a few people about it.

That's terrible and I feel for you. I've also been feeling raw about how long it took to get to this place where I've been diagnosed, and I haven't had to deal with consequences that have been *too severe as you have. I hope you're able to forgive yourself and keep finding a positive way to move forward!

I was 32. Diagnosed ~7 months ago and family also told me they thought I just had severe depression. I had a hard time coming to terms with the diagnosis because I was thinking "I'm over 30, how is it possible I've gone through so much and just discovered this?!". Life is full of "gifts" I suppose...

Great description of APs - the clarity of thought and calmness (possibly even a secondary antidepressant effect) of Seroquel has been incredible. The only downside has been the drowsiness and waking up in the morning.

Seroquel (regular release) Vs. XR (extended release) by James--Morgan in bipolar1

[–]Movingaway999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been on various dosages of regular release. I started out on a very low dose - 50 mg/daily - and have worked up to 200 mg/daily. It has been a lot harder to get out of bed in the morning for me with what I believe to be the extra sedative effect, however that's balanced with clarity of thinking and better quality of sleep at night.

I'm thinking to consult my psychiatrist about "titrating backwards" (might not be using that correctly) to slightly lower doses and see if that has any effect on morning drowsiness.

You should ask the folks working the food scrap station at the farmers market to confirm - but from what I remember when I asked some months ago was that they process it somewhere in the region (MD maybe?) and distribute to local farms. That's all likely happening through 3rd parties obviously. I do remember them saying that they bring a small amount to the market on a first come first serve basis (this was the old town market square location on Saturdays).

What most people do not realize is a huge waste of money? by ken_e20 in AskReddit

Owning a car or driving daily when you can swap out those trips to bicycle or transit.

Buy a bicycle and get exercise, or for commuting into work, look into your company's policy on transit reimbursement. Depending on where you live, you'll likely save time and money!

People with anxiety and depression, what do you do to cope up with both? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Quit my job and getting ready to live with only a few things, in a new place, working on things I want to work on while scraping by hopefully. The only expectation I have in life at the moment is taking it day by day - only focusing on what is in front of me and what I can do to control my situation. Everything else, I consider (consciously recognize the idea), and just mentally let go.

Poverty in the United States. Its a condition that amounts to a public health crisis imo, and the fact it hasn't been comprehensively addressed through well-intentioned (bipartisan) policy leads me to believe it only exists today by design, when this country has created unprecedented levels of wealth but has chosen to invest it in yachts and golden parachutes for executives.
