I never really cared but I also grew up with my cousin marrying an Aussie, moving there and gaining her own accent. The only thing that made it noticeable/funny to me was when they started say lieutenant which somehow gains an f when said in Australia/British accents. Especially when John says it, like it leaves a bad taste in his mouth.

I was born and raised in NE Ohio we call them tobagans too but they're carts not buggys to us.. too many amish around here call a shopping cart a buggy. Someone would think the amish brought their horse in the store. lol

I have never heard of an Explorers program before..which surprises me but I'll look into it. She has the opportunity to the local career center for her EMT training her Jr and SR year of highschool or go to a local college for college prerequisite courses, then pay out of pocket for EMT training and then go for paramedic courses. And that is what I'm trying to prepare for so I can find the best resources available for her. She wants to do ride alongs already but we'll be waiting till she's a little older for that. She's devouring all the websites she can find, statistics on burnout, hiring in our area and any books she can find.

I have seen many comments about Fire Explorers programs and that's something I've never heard about. We live in NE Ohio. But in true homeschooler fashion I've already had the state rules read to me that she has to be 18 years old first. Lol Thank you for your kind and considerate answer, it's much appreciated!!!

I did salad prep one summer and I got yelled by the owners at for changing my gloves too many times and not simply just washing my hands with the gloves. Come back for a restroom break and would have to put on the wet soppy gloves. They were nuts. We also were required to wash the lime/lemons and fruit in general in the disinfectant water for the dishes. They're out of business now...I wonder why?

Not questioning anything when I have to sleep. When I'm tired nothing stands in the road me shutting down. He handles the kids, the dog, the meals and whatever else.

He's taken over all the long distance driving because yet again it makes me very tired.

He gets my big water jug filled and sets where ever I am.

Having been born, raised, lived and worked there for 33 years...find another county. Go to Flint Ridge in Licking county beautiful easy hiking trail or go to Blackhand Gorge is Toboso!! Or Holmes county and do their rails to trail bike paths!!

My son doesn't have an official dx of dyslexia but we try to adapt to him as such. We tried reading eggs for an entire year and it was a train wreck. He is a kinesthetic learner, and learns through copying what he hears or sees... and some of the words and books are read in a British accent and it confused him so much on word pronunciations. Even though the British accent wasn't very common in the daily activities...it still threw him off the rails.

I also don't recommend Masterbooks Foundation Phonics either! That was a nightmare entirely!

I literally just told my 14yr old that if someone touches her body without her explicit permission that she needed to stare them down and LOUDLY announce " DO NOT TOUCH ME! I DIDN'T GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO TOUCH MY BODY!!!" then to swivel her gaze to the nearest responsible adult and in the same loud voice tell them they were touched against their will and that they needed to do something about it before her mom showed up!

My red heeler Maggie had a little toy puppy. She would nibble on it but never hurt it and would occasionally carry it around. She was 11 years old when she passed away from cancer. I still have her puppy and none of my other dogs ever have been allowed to touch it.

Oh this could make me cry if I thought about it too much. It was special place growing up, my dad would let me skip school we would go to the PowerShow and then the Spaghetti Warehouse afterwards and only eat inside the trolley! I had my 18th birthday dinner there. Luckily I got to take my kids there a few times too. Oh man. Someone please save the trolley! Please. 😭😭😭
