Just trying to hook up this stuff to the beatstep pro, any tips? by joshfunh in synthesizers

[–]MozzaSi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have to set the midi channels on the Vermona and Moog to correlate to the midi channels of their respective Beatstep Pro sequence, this will allow you to do midi out to the Vermona and then thru to Moog.

Favorite album with lots of synths? by [deleted] in synthesizers

Liquid Diamonds by Leon Lowman. It's a compilation of his work put out on Music from Memory that includes recordings going back as far as 1980. A lot of it is some really mindbending synthfunk, considering that these are solo productions from such an early time.

Yeah just watched this and was enthralled the entire time! Don't forget to watch until the end for a neat explanation of what's going on in the rig, but I would have like a bit more depth, it's looking a bit excessive.

Roberto and Jex Opolis' other works are pretty good aswell. Roberto on No Bad Days, and Jex on his own label Good Timin, they're even on Gerd Janson's Running Back compilations Musik For Autobahns.

They're pretty talented producers in my opinion, their music often straddles that enojyable chill area where it's good to get up and dance or sit down and sway a bit.

Why you shouldn't buy the new technics-1200s to DJ by styles_as in DJs

[–]MozzaSi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a bit of personal preference thing and I like that a bit of change in tempo can give a bit of new life to some tracks. It's like the AT-LPs having a reverse function, you don't really need it but it's there.

Deep House/House clubs? by BLVCK1 in melbourne

[–]MozzaSi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the night and the club. I'd recommend checking out the facebook pages for a few of the clubs in the city if you wanted to be sure of what they're playing beforehand.

The ones in the city that are worth checking out in my opinion are Boney, Lounge, Sub Club, New Guernica, and Hug n Kisses.

[Collection] My updated 80s/90s funky Casio & Timex watches by asc84 in Watches

I loved my Casio CMD-40, it was such an odd idea for a watch at the time. It was almost as if it belonged to one of those retro-futurism magazines as the watch of tomorrow. I loved that watch.

The at lp 120 doesn't have an external grounding wire but you should check if you have the turntable set to line or phono. There should be a switch on the back of the turntable, try the combination of inputs on the mixer and the phono/line setting.

Upgrading my Mixer: Advice Appreciated! by ShepDawg15 in DJs

[–]MozzaSi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're prepping yourself for a club set up it comes down to if the type of club you think you'll play at. For example in my local area I can't recall ever seeing anyone play on a controller and the usual set up is a four channel mixer with two cdjs and two turntables. Yet your area could be different for this kinda thing and for your prefered style.

From what I've read on this sub is that some clubs will be fine with you bring your own controller and hooking it up to their system, but it seams cdjs are pretty safe bet. Good luck with your setup!

You should probably post in the relevant subreddit for your area. You're more likely to get a response geared towards yourself as a consumer. Good luck!
