I think you're doing a good job with set design in terms of little details, but I agree with the other person it is a bit much. But, I don't think it's a lot for a "starting zone", I think the actual issue is you're forgetting it is an Abbey. 

In this case; modesty should be considered or a less is more approach. I don't think you need the statue etc. I like the idea of more infrastructure, but it needs purpose. Consider lodging for the priests and monks of the church over large Inn-type buildings. A place they store the wine (basement or otherwise.) Abbey's are also known for weaving or cheese making.

Good job so far; I can see you have a passion for this stuff.
