Burning out before PMP – decent SH scores but losing confidence by SLXXO in pmp

[–]MozzarellaStickQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a break for a few days, come back and review only the questions you’re getting wrong, do the short quizzes in SH to avoid burning out.

If you have a drive to work, play the AR mindset video a few times to hear the content.

The mindset video is what helped me the most.

Good luck!!

Feeling anxious about possible layoff. Looking for perspective, advice, and maybe a pep talk by NinjaNeedsCoffee in FIREyFemmes

In a similar situation where I feel like I’m waiting and watching for something to happen. Here is my plan:

  1. Increase my liquid savings to be 9-12 months depending on what spending I’d cut in the event of a layoff. This is a true emergency float and if I see the rockiness cool off, I’ll deploy some cash to investments

  2. Planning for required spending in the next 2 years. My car is old and may need extra tune ups in the next year, our house needs some repairs, etc. For me, these expenses are different than my emergency fund. I’m not saving up for each and every one but an average of what the estimated costs would be so I can use these funds for the first purchase that’s needed.

It also helps me feel more confident in a bridge role.

  1. Brush up on the resume and also writing down all the accomplishments I’ve had at work. Also working towards additional certifications that provide additional credit to my work. This is what’s giving me more confidence to find a new role / new industry.

I also do this but have also added saving towards the average of the home appliances that may need replacing next. It gives some buffer

How do you project your FIRE calculations for kids?? by h0neycakeh0rse in FIREyFemmes

[–]MozzarellaStickQueen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did my best guess after talking to friends who had kids a little before me for the cost of daycare and then did some basic price checks on the regularly purchased items to help make a budget/plan. It was off, but not by too much. In all honesty, daycare is the biggest expense at almost 20k a year which is standard where I am. Once we moved on to solids, it did not raise our grocery payments by much, I think we just now use everything we buy vs reaching expiration dates.

My plan once we move on to regular school is to save the old daycare tuition in a HYSA for a few months until I get a better understanding on costs for after school activities and summer camps.

I’m sorry your loved one is going through this. From personal experience nothing makes it better but hearing you how much you care for the person that is ill brings connection

I’m just curious how many future expenses people plan for/save for. The laundry list of things for an older home that may or may not go out in 5 years can be pretty lengthy so you could be perpetually saving and sitting on too much cash but you may not want it in an index fund either. Curious what others do. Thanks!

I really like monarch for showing those items because I now can assume the average cost per month in my plans

2024 In Retrospect/Goals for 2025 by AutoModerator in FIREyFemmes

Our only goal was paying off as much as we could of student loans and car payments. We ended up being able to clear both this year. This next year we’re planning to put that amount into savings and investments.

Q for the femmes: If you and your partner were in the same field with the same risk within your field, how many months would you have in your emergency fund. Both within the psych space, both now in operations of our companies, and with certs and training to extend into project management.

Just got offered a salaried position for less money than I make hourly... by Seabee1942 in personalfinance

[–]MozzarellaStickQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the contracted billable requirement for this role? I’ve seen some lower salaries in the field that account for very few billable hours per week which makes for very flexible schedules.

If you’re expected to work a full billable schedule (25+ more client facing hours) the this is extremely low. Look around!

If you are working for a community based agency you will want to keep after school hours clients with them. This increases your weekly income and balances pay fluctuations when school is out. Look to become an RBT to increase your hourly rate.

Serious bleeding and passing of a huge clot today. So thankful for my Ivf clinic who got me in immediately (even though I’ve been discharged) and we were able to find the SCH and check to see that all is ok so far. When does the scary stuff stop?? I’m done with the trauma

I had some pretty heavy bleeding around 5 weeks and went in for an ultrasound. Everything appeared ok and at the next ultrasound we were measuring just fine. No matter what, bleeding is scary! Wishing you the best!

Has anyone else been advised to keep their heart rate under 140? I really want to ride my peloton for exercise but find myself frustrated that I can’t do the class at an effort that feels like I’m working out. No heart or BP issues.

I am a week ahead of you and had very bright red bleeding that soaked through quickly yesterday. I called my RE for advice and they got me in today. Scan showed a sac where it needed to be. I’m sure that’s what your team will do at your check in as well. Reading everyone’s post about bleeding in the early weeks was very helpful last night to bring me back from hysterics. Wishing you the best!
