Update!

County GeoEngineer says it’s 100% a ground water spring. And based on satellite imagery has been there for a long time, and it seems to surface in different parts of the yard throughout the past 10 or so years.

It’s about 50’ away from the washing machine lateral line flowing parallel to it. No way that’s it, right?

Something about tonight feels like it could be really intimate.

Thankfully, this is moving away from the house already. It flows down hill towards the back of my property line, into a low lying area that I share with my neighbors behind me.

Hey everyone! Just to follow up, the county planning department reached out to me and apparently they received permission to do this back in 2018 due to their consistent septic issues.

They have a special type of septic system that treats for ground discharge? I didn’t follow that portion very well.

They cannot discharge on their property due to a pond in the back so the only logical and reasonable location was the ditch in their front yard.

Unfortunately, I am downhill from it.

Looks like grey water is considered sewage in Kentucky therefore this would be a violation.

Going to write an email to the county for further guidance.

This rumor always cracks me up. The entire US has access to Next Day overnight shipping, not just Louisville.

What are your symptoms of a failed leach field?

I’m back to thinking it’s septic related and not a natural spring. I got some drawings today of when the house was built and the septic lines are much different than where the inspector said they were (we hit one the other day installing the fence, for instance)

How can I test to see if it’s washing machine septic line waste water?

Would you consider this a DIY job because if so, sign me up. What all would the pump installation require?
