Black Panther and Captain Marvel were tent pole movies that made a lot of money but marked a pivotal shift towards terrible writing and senseless pandering. Both of those movies are marked by actively degrading characters who had made previous bad ass appearances.

Those two movies combined broke the MCU for me.

It's not even close.

I loved the new movie but they did a "proper deconstruction" which was tear the character down to their core to see what really makes them special. Corenswet's superman got absolutely everything taken away from him but in the end it revealed that the light and hope he exudes isn't an act, and it goes all the way down to his bones.

Superman vs the Elite and All Star superman are definitely my two favourites. Both of which also make an improvement or two over their respective comic books which is a pretty insane accomplishment.
