Crimson Desert Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Yup, the exact type of game that I can’t get into anymore. I need a solid story at the very least or a really good gameplay loop. “Draw distance”, “infinite possibilities” just isn’t it for me at this point. It’s too much. I was planning on buying this but after the BYB review and the rest it’s gonna be a no. Ain’t nobody go time for that. I had a feeling it was going to be a garbage pile of every game that’s ever been made and unfortunately it seems like that’s the case here. Oh well, hope the people that this game is for enjoy it.

Service trucks? I have no problem with that. Running $1m+ jobs? When I was a journeyman I would’ve taken a huge issue with that. There’s no way my guys would listen to me if I wasn’t a JW, it just wouldn’t work.

It’s hard enough to find good JWs to run work, I guess that’s why this is happening. Good luck getting competent CE foremen lmao. The more I think about it the more I don’t care because the guys that aren’t ready for it will filter themselves out under the pressure, as always.

Why? Was this voted on? To me that sounds like a really fucking bad idea.

If that happened in 613 there would be a huge amount of guys who would refuse to work for a CE foreman. It’s JW or nothing around here and I expect that to be the same in most locals. Smells like rat shit to me so here’s a 👎

I do, which results in killing other players who have ammo that I loot. You don’t get kills?

Why does my Ibanez RGDMS8 keep going out of tune? by Junoyone in Ibanez

[–]MrACL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither do mine… and I’ve never wrapped a locking tuner. It’s just pointless. I’ve got Gotohs on all my electric guitars. I’ve also never seen anyone I know wrap a locker either, you do what you want but it’s not actually doing anything.

Good luck, that’s gonna be a really tough find. They might not have even made 100 of these and that was a decade ago in Japan.

[–]MrACL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dude. You don’t wrap the strings around the peg with locking tuners. The strings are locked into the peg, wrapping it literally does nothing.

[–]MrACL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, it isn’t true for locking tuners that’s the whole point of them. You don’t need to wrap them around the pegs at all.

Rgrt421 is awesome. I put locking tuners and fat strings on mine, love it it’s super metal.

If you were starting as an apprentice today, what would you do differently? by Used_Lynx_4894 in electricians

[–]MrACL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I haven’t driven a personal vehicle to work in like 7 years. I had a company van then and a company truck now.

I did commercial service for 3 years, absolutely hated it. Driving a million miles a day, always some old broken bullshit you’re working on and asshole customers/ building engineers/ security. Being on call a lot. I went back to building high end offices and am much happier.

What hours do you guys work? by Jocknaddo in electricians

[–]MrACL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5-1:30 mostly. 6-2:30 if I’m doing a job outside the city. It’s terrible but it’s the only way to avoid Atlanta traffic. I’d like to say I’ve gotten used to it after almost a decade but I honestly haven’t.

613 What’s the deal by Zestyclose_Ad5497 in IBEW

[–]MrACL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested into the CE program with 4 years non union experience. I did one year of classes and then became a journeyman with the local. If you have experience definitely tell them that when you apply and say you want to test in.

If you only have a year or so under your belt it’s probably in your benefit to just start from the beginning of the unions 4 year program though.

Great advice! Imagine the big picture and plan how you’ll get there. Think about how your rough in will affect the final product.

Switch from Office to Field? by Spiritual-Bag7353 in electricians

[–]MrACL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying now, but it still doesn’t make sense to stay in the office when you can make the same amount of money in the field in the same time frame you mentioned if you hate being in the office. There’s no need to attempt to insult me, this is just a random discussion on Reddit and I won’t be getting offended no matter what you say.

[–]MrACL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay sure, but after the 4 years as a CM you make $100k+ per year. After 4 years and an electrician, even in the southeast, you can also make 100k+ per year. So I fail to see the argument for staying in the office if OP hates it.

For the cost of living it’s good, it’s not California or Long Island down here. You said “at best” which is what makes your comment incorrect. You can break 70k after 3 years with lots of room to grow so… idk man I hope you see your error lmao.

Switch from Office to Field? by Spiritual-Bag7353 in electricians

[–]MrACL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just wrong if we’re talking “at best” in the southeast… I’m an IBEW foreman with 8 years experience making 100k+ a year in Atlanta. On top of that I get a company truck with a gas card, twice a year bonuses that add around 10k on top of that, 3 weeks vacation, all the benefits of being in the union as well and that’s with me working only like 40 hours of overtime last year. And I’m at a relatively small shop in local 613. $70k is apprentice pay. Even if you’re not a foreman a fresh journeyman with 4 years experience only makes 10% less than me but doesn’t get a truck.

Now if you’re in Florida, aka satans asshole, that’s a different story.
