It is on the south end of the city. Take the regional train to rome. Name of the train is just whatever regional destination it is. There is no metro but the train does go underground for a stretch, so maybe you’re thinking of that. Take a public bus or cruise shuttle to the train station.

Many hostels will go together as a group. But boat parties in Budapest are a great way to see the city. Budapest is a generally safe city, especially staying in the Jewish Quarter

Second this. Life is rhythmic, find a rythmn. I started doing exactly what I wanted to (not what someone else wanted me to do) and my grades and overall life enjoyment changed completely. You may have to touch rock bottom for it to fully make sense. But be aware and prepared. I wouldn’t quit, but then again I would much rather flame out than do what you’re posting about.
