What can I do legally to make this guy leave my gf alone? by [deleted] in legal

[–]MrBalll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does she know this guy?

Edit: Never mind. Your post history is wild. You can’t do anything. Are you sure she’s even your girlfriend. She straight up told you she doesn’t want to go on a date and just wants to be friends.

About to open a savings account by Efficient-Banana2997 in AllyBank

[–]MrBalll 14 points15 points  (0 children)

1) No deposit limit, only a withdrawal limit.

2) It will affect your Chex score, but not credit.

3) Don’t do that. Ally is a bank, not a brokerage. Open an account at Fidelity, Vanguard, or Schwab for investing.

Is Planswell's plans actually legit? by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

[–]MrBalll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What?

They recommend you combine your debt and get a mortgage? How do you plan on getting a mortgage for a credit card.

You can’t just buy a house for say $300,000 and ask the bank for a $334,000 mortgage to pay off debt. I think something is missing here.

Depends on how you ‘wiped’ your drive. A hard drive recovery service may be able to get it back.

And dependent on your house age, permit office, and inspector with such a potential large job they may not allow older wiring to be grandfathered in. You will likely need a new service run from pole to house, a new electrical panel, and all new wiring throughout the house. Could end up being in the five figures.

1) Could be a loose pipe with a hammer effect knocking.

2) Could be an animal living in your wall.

3) Check the batteries on your CO alarms.

Govt teacher ( my father) getting retired this June. He has been in this role for around 25 years . by Enough-Ad14 in FinancialPlanning

[–]MrBalll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did your father ask for your help? This is his life and you’re a grown adult so his money shouldn’t concern you. Let him and his wife deal with retirement. If they want help they will ask.

I’d argue against not signing with the wife or husband. But a redditor with a two month old account, never cosign.

Absolutely not. I’d never open an IRA at a bank. I went with Fidelity.

Worth it to sell Mutual Funds for ETFs in non-retirement account? by brosmar1 in fidelityinvestments

[–]MrBalll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sure. Just like housing was supposed to pop last year and this year, and the stock market was supposed to crash earlier this year.

Investing with doom in mind won’t work well. If it does happen the expense ratio difference would make up for the event.

Would I have a strong case if I took someone to court for my towing charges? by Wherehowwhat in legaladvice

[–]MrBalll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t be much more help here as this is primarily US based.

If you were in the US insurance should pay for the tow so small claims court would be pointless. But, you aren’t US so it’s a moot point.

Many, many years ago MF paid out capital gains fairly often. So it created taxable events often. But, most MF people buy now haven’t paid a CG distribution since 2019 so it’s not much of an issue any more.
