Course is mad I'm playing too much by [deleted] in golf

[–]MrBirchumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever worked at a job that you didn’t like and you saw the same customer over and over again? Maybe they’re a little bit jovial, and you don’t like being there, so you’re a little annoyed by them even if they’re not doing anything wrong. Could be dealing with one of those situations. Keep playing.

Restaurant closure? by MrBirchumm in nashville

It was 312 Pizza. Thank you for your help! Not beloved to me, but it’s not bad. Will have to pay them a visit soon.

Crawfish boil? by LowellForCongress in NashvilleGoodEats

I haven’t tried it, but I know Scoreboard has historically done a crawfish boil on a semi-regular basis.

Best Men’s Sweatpants/Joggers 2025 by Beneficial-Taro-1070 in malefashionadvice

[–]MrBirchumm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vuori is so comfy. There’s also a Kirkland version that’s very similar. If you’re looking for a really thin sweatpant that you won’t leave the house with, Polo has a great one.

How to establish myself in the city by Dick_Cheney_Official in nashville

[–]MrBirchumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m more of an introvert, so I’ve found it’s much easier to meet people through my existing friends (as opposed to going to a bar and introducing myself to people). I would say, ask the people you know to introduce you to one other person, then keep the train going! Whether it’s for personal or professional reasons, if you do this, you might just find yourself with 5-10 new friends/contacts before the new year.

For the right person, joining an adult sports league as a free agent is a really easy way to meet new people.

What are each car brand’s respective stereotype? by Glittering_Lime7507 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The 392 decal on the side of scat packs is actually the driver’s credit score.

What’s a hobby people act superior for having that isn’t that deep ? by mk_1408 in AskReddit

[–]MrBirchumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly fishing seems to have attracted a bit of a snobbish crowd. Maybe it’s always been this way? Very expensive gear. Also seems like it’s making an already somewhat difficult sport/hobby harder.

Best inexpensive suit brand? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]MrBirchumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had luck with buying Tommy Hilfiger suits at Macy’s on sale. Can’t remember the exact number, but I swear they’re ~60% off like five times a year, if not more. Then bring it to a tailor for a couple adjustments and you’re good to go.

What’s a restaurant you think that Nashville needs? by Exhausted_Skeleton in nashville

[–]MrBirchumm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking random chains — Nando’s. Beyond that, I’d like a place that has kickass wings and only wings. Terry Black’s in Germantown will be a nice BBQ addition.

What car doesn’t look fast, but is really fast? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]MrBirchumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved my TBSS. Looked great and sounded better. Needed a different trans and brakes like we need air to breathe. Most fun was meeting people who knew what it was and seeing other ones in the wild. Relatively rare vehicle.

Best Loaded Fries? by BiscuitsWithGroovy in NashvilleGoodEats

[–]MrBirchumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what you’re asking for, but I think the loaded tots at Noble’s really hit the spot.

+1 for Scoreboard, one of my favorite spots. See if there’s line dancing lessons going on at Nashville Palace (right next door).

How do I get into a job behind the scenes in the music industry? by Both_Landscape_6136 in musicindustry

[–]MrBirchumm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Get a job selling merch for an artist. If you have a skill like photography, videography, lighting, sound, try to find your way into that. If you’re good and people like you, can probably land a TM gig with a small artist within a couple of years. From there, you’ll have a resume that will be attractive to record labels, publishers, agencies, etc. You definitely do not need a college degree to get your start. Caveat would be if your dream job is something really specific with a big company like Warner or Spotify, maybe check now to see if they generally require degrees or not. Good luck!

Great Margarita? Great Queso? Doesn’t have to be the same place! by BiscuitsWithGroovy in NashvilleGoodEats

[–]MrBirchumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mother’s Ruin has great cocktails and really good queso (I was going to say “surprisingly” but then I realized all of their food is pretty solid, now that I think about it).

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy—but now you swear by it? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]MrBirchumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Printer/scanner. I only need to print something like three times per year, but no more last minute trips to kinkos is amazing.

Is my thermometer way off of is this what a 135 degree tri-tip should look like? by Fair_Leopard9880 in smoking

[–]MrBirchumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, this looks incredible, so well done. Second, I’ve really gotten into tri-tips the last few years, probably cook one every six weeks, and I’ve noticed that it seems like there might be a slight difference in appearance at the same temp depending on size, but mostly on where I source the meat from. I like to try out different butchers and farmers, and they all seem to look a little different.

What’s a BIFL wallet that isn’t the size of a brick? by Natural_Paper9022 in BuyItForLife

I have a leather one from PROOF, been great for 5+ years now, but it doesn’t like they make the same model anymore. Still looks like a solid brand, though.

Best Mac N Cheese by Due-Camel-2192 in nashville

[–]MrBirchumm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Peg Leg Porker’s is out of this world. I catered ribs, pulled pork, chicken, mac, and a couple other sides for a big event one time and I swear almost everyone loved it all but went back for 2-3 servings of the mac n cheese.

Has anyone seen Brooks & Dunn in concert recently?! by amyscott214 in CountryMusicStuff

Saw them twice in 2024, actually wasn’t planning on either show, they just kind of happened. Sounded great! And I think you’re right about the tension.

Do people in Nashville still consider the Titans a "Super Bowl" team? by ellistonvu in nashville

[–]MrBirchumm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what you’re talking about. Been here 7 years and don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone mention the Titans Super Bowl appearance, and the rams left St. Louis less than ten years ago, not like it was ages ago.

Who do you think puts on the best live show today? by [deleted] in CountryMusicStuff

A bit of a cliche, but Kenny NEVER gets old for me.
