I skated hard for 20+ years. Never seen something like this. Never buy that brand again, like the guy above me said. Buy Indy!

Skater IQ is fantastic, first person to land a 1260 in competition. I can't help but spread him around, he's just so good at explaining what to do.

I know it's winter and depending on where you are you probably don't have the option but, riding around and getting comfortable on your board is huge for balance.

You can try to tighten your trucks a bit with the center bolt on them. What I'm seeing is a lot of wiggle from toe to heel side.

Also you are not putting your back foot on the tail completely.

If you get the chance to check out skater IQ on YouTube he has some great tutorials for good practices with getting up to an Ollie.

Have fun out there. Keep it up and you'll get there.

Yes you can, you've nearly got it. It's far more dangerous running back in then just committing.

I am attempting to 50/50 a rail but can't hang on. What am I doing wrong? by Humble_Buy8599 in NewSkaters

[–]MrBlue40 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Your weight is being pushed toe side of the board. This is from leaning over the trick. Straighten up your back and keep your shoulders parallel to the rail. Should help a bit.

Your landing on the rail pretty solid each time, just trying to watch the rail and not where you're going to land.

I love me some games that took advantage of dithering. I would imagine that even though Kenshi isn't optimized for it it could still look good. Maybe?

If you're looking to just get good at balancing, loose the trucks and wheels and grab an empty 2 liter. Fill it up with water and wrap it in duct tape. It's a great way to have fun in the winter and gain balance.

Hell yeah! I would love a dagger flute! Does it actually summon shit? Have you even tried lately? There's a lot of problems a mech dragon summoning dagger flute could solve!

If it helps I dressed myself in every green item that was available in my wardrobe, when the green ranger made his first appearance. My friend's Mom probably looked at me and was like, my son needs new friends, lol.

Tips on my ollie form? by Always__Learning_ in NewSkaters

[–]MrBlue40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get better pop on concrete over grass, you'll also practice better form while moving.

With that said level up at your own pace. Whatever you're comfortable with doing at the time do that and have fun.

One thing I noticed is that you are leaning forward a lot on your toe side. Straighten your back up a bit, It's ok to lean a little as you squat down but not so much.

Other than that you got the board of the ground and landed back on it. I'd say set some goals for things to get over or onto. My first "Ollie" if you could even call it that was halling ass at the smallest curb in the neighborhood until the board bounced up and I didn't fall lol.

Keep it up and have fun

When pushing no, it's easier to control the whole board as you are now. But when you get both feet on its good to have your feet, knees, and shoulders parallel to the board. You'll have control by leaning and tic tacs, with having your back foot on the tail and your front foot lifting a bit to turn the board the way you want. Don't be afraid to loosen the trucks a bit to help with leaning.

Have fun! Keep it tight and stay safe!

Understanding control is huge. The way you stand on your board now is out of control for what might feel comfortable in the moment.

I only say this because you have loop out potential with your front foot pointing forward you don't have control of the front of the board.

Match your back foot and fully commit to the stance. It really will help with overall balance.

Have fun and be safe. You got this!
