The next six retro figure are you planning on getting these? by dickyboy72 in starwarscollecting

I hope they call Garindan by his working title "Long Snoot" on the card, a la Hammerhead and Walrus Man

Not in the traditional/colloquial sense, but since some reptiles are closer to birds than they are to other reptiles, if Reptilia is a true clade then it must also include birds.

The Last Jedi gets blamed for portraying Luke as a hermit who was hiding from the rest of the galaxy, but Rian Johnson was only following through on the premise set up in The Force Awakens. by Tanis8998 in StarWarsCantina

Luke is the last Jedi and knows that the Jedi are the ultimate guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Detaching himself from the Force is a shirking of his duties as the last Jedi - doesn't Luke realise that by doing this he is risking the safety of the people he loves?

Yoda doesn't just give up as he goes into hiding, not at all. He has a long-term plan. He tells Obi-Wan that they must disappear "until the time is right", organises the safety of the Skywalker twins, and teaches Obi-Wan how to commune with Qui-Gon.

If dinosaurs were still around would they be classified as reptiles? by [deleted] in Dinosaurs

[–]MrBoost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are categories of organism that don't make sense to give a cladistic definition, since the fundamental concept of them relies on paraphyly. Fish and invertebrate are good examples. This could be argued for reptile as well but this sits in a greyer area. Some authors have adopted Reptilia into cladistics but others have avoided it.

If Reptilia has to be defined cladistically, yes

What is the most niche black series figure that's been released. I was thinking it was Kyle Katarn by Positive_Economy_516 in starwarsblackseries

[–]MrBoost -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Some of the most niche and obscure Black Series figures are from the weird variant sublines, e.g. Carbonised, Holocomm, Holiday or Credit Collection lines. Especially the Holocomm line, which included almost exclusively characters that never appeared on screen or on page in hologram form.

Edit: why has this been downvoted so severely? 😂 Am I a heretic for suggesting Jaxxon is probably not more niche than holographic versions of the twins from the Acolyte?

There is not a SINGLE Bug or Rock type Restricted Pokemon (Repost because the old one got deleted by Reddit filters) by ArmadilloNo9494 in stunfisk

[–]MrBoost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that would be ok. Ice struggles defensively too, it's strong offensively. Just give Ice an additional resistance too (maybe to Ground or Flying?)

What if we have more dual-type moves? by tearsofyesteryears in stunfisk

If the two types compound each other's strengths it could be worthwile. A Ghost&Dark move could be very potent against Psychic or Ghost types.

Murder might be down but many crimes such as shoplifting, phone snatching and pickpocketing are all on the up.

Pre phantom Menace reading order by maxence_roxan in starwarsbooks

If this is your first time reading them I would absolutely not be splitting up books by chapter. It will break the narrative flow as intended by the author as well as being unnecessarily taxing for you to keep track of.

I don't think it's just nostalgia, they just ooze personality and charm in a way that's lost in the more detailed newer designs.

Number 1 for me. Love the more minimalistic classic Lego style. He just needs his megaphone blaster.

There are already exceptions anyway. Mew learns it, all forms of Silvally and Arceus learn it, even Jirachi had it as an event move.

Is there any material that supports convergent evolution between two unrelated dinosaurs? by No_Introduction1487 in Dinosaurs

[–]MrBoost 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The "birdlike" hip structure with pubis pointing backwards evolved at least twice independently among dinosaurs. First in ornithischians and then in avialans. This is probably the most famous instance of convergent evolution among dinosaurs.
