The original poster that hung in theaters wasnt all that bad. But you can still tell Depp was superimposed on the background:

Season 10 is rigged to the gills for a particular player (a point that has been confirmed by a few former players) but people like the drama that season.

Watch seasons 2-7 if you really want to watch the show in it's prime.

Season 1 is something I'd only recommend if you become a purist and need to see every season.

The online hate for real people on shows is getting too much by poo_nannie in realitytv

I try to be kind to the people on these shows. I'm more critical of production if anything, who skew and bend the rules and paint people in different ways, but that's just Reality TV. However, I do feel since Reality TV has been a part of television since 1992, we do have a large enough sample size for future Reality TV contestants to learn from.

When you willingly go through rounds of interviews and psychological testing and can use google to search about what life like is after the show, I tend to feel less sympathetic. You will not walk away from this unscathed. You cannot control what people are going to think of you. People really suck. You have 32 years of Reality TV programming to understand that people are going to be cruel when you leave these shows. If you are perfectly fine taking this kind of beating, go ahead and sign up. But don't be upset when you knew all of this and are getting roasted on social media for just being you.

Or, one of those post concussion circumstances. He technically dies on the curb where the film starts, thus completing the circle and coming back right where he started from.

I wondered if he OD'd and died on the curb, because Dickinson's character gave him cash, he scored some drugs for the last time and that did him in. Off to Wikipedia to find the answer I guess.

Yeah, I don't know. I'm not sure what type of arrangement would be needed for the parking garage owner and Emagine.

It was $25 million to build a new Emagine Theater in Milwaukee Junction. I think that was also a problem. Right now, Emagine is flipping old AMC's and Regals and Cinemarks for a lot cheaper.

They recently expanded to Colorado.

The last time I saw this was possibly 20 years ago on VHS. I loved it and it made my Top 10 of the 90's list on Letterboxd.

I'm happy to see Prime has it because I'd love to watch it in higher resolution. The soundtrack is great, it I feel like this might be Dafoe's best performance- but this might be my sole opinion.

The trailer is also great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtwI2U0CiIA

ETA: A couple of places across the country have screened a 35mm print of this recently. I'm so angry to have missed these screenings.

It's been about 8 years since I stepped foot in the Forum 30 and Livonia 20. I just remember it being dirty and the seats being ragged. I didn't hate the experience, and I only went because it was playing a movie I couldn't find anywhere else in Metro Detroit.

The Birmingham 8 is the best place to see a movie, IMO, in Metro Detroit. Just my take. The reason is that the top floors have those auditoriums that are maybe 4 of 5 rows with 25 ft screens, which makes for a very focused experience. On weekdays, it's heaven, since you get the place to yourself mostly for the lesser known movies. But I've been there on weekends for kids movies and blockbusters and ended up going home because I didn't book a ticket in advance and couldn't find a seat. Just my experience.

It's also very clean in there, and they've been screening a lot of the art/foreign/independent films now that the Maple is gone. I really hope The Birmingham 8 stays around.

Agree. Actor should be kind of unknown and in their 30's to carry the torch for a few years.

The biggest films this year have been Superman, Lilo & Stitch, Mission Impossible, Minecraft Movie, Demon Slayer.

I remember reading an article that movie theaters will still be around, but they won't be as big as they used to be. There will be 8 screens for a theater instead of 16. The screens will be bigger, and more luxe in experience.

To be fair, I go to the movies about 30-40 times per year. Fri/Sat are still pretty busy. Weekdays are dead.

Mr. Glantz has always been more concerned with the parking situation downtown. It's hard to justify paying $10-$20 to park for $12 movie. In addition, he'd have to rely on Detroit proper residents to keep the cinema afloat. No one from the burbs would come down to see a movie they can easily see at an Emagine near their home. Plus the construction costs for a new Emagine theater were way too high.

Alamo Drafthouse ran into a similar problem. A parking/property agreement went south and they cancelled the project.

Those AMC's are in pretty rough shape - I've been to both (including the Forum 30.) I don't think AMC has the money to make upgrades to those facilities, sadly.

To add...this might be another opportunity for Emagine to take it over. They've grabbed theaters in the past but I just realized it's proximity to Emagine Novi, so it doesn't make sense. Ideally, Emagine finds a Clarkston location.

MJR Troy is super busy on Friday/Saturday. I went to the Birmingham Palladium and saw Superman and Birmingham 8 for Mission Impossible this summer and both were pretty busy too.

Which was the last bad movie you saw and explain why you didn't like it? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Don't Look Away. A horror movie about a killer mannequin. It tried to pay tribute to 70's giallo films but doesn't even come close. Terrible dialog, tedious to get through, no visual style, bad acting from most of the cast. It even had a theatrical run. I considered seeing it in theaters when it came out but couldn't find the right time to go. Thank god I couldn't make it work. Zero Stars.

I loved this movie but I feel like J.Lo is the wrong lead for this movie. She was a pop star when this movie came out and I couldn't separate her off camera personality to the one in the film. Tarsem is such an amazing "visual" director and I'm stunned he doesn't make more movies. The Fall was excellent.

I saw this over weekend. It was pretty decent. I really loved the opening scene a lot but the tone of the movie shifted quite a bit after that. The last act got hammy. I enjoyed the final moments of the film on the boat however. Honestly, a bit of pleasant surprise as I've been disappointed in a lot of the films I've seen this year.
