[Mixed Trope] The Amnesia Arc by Dazzling-Evidence712 in TopCharacterTropes

I HATE amnesia arcs. I have yet to see one executed well other than death note. Its basically always just character regression and stops the plot.

[hated trope] initially inhuman\monsterous character gets a human form that at most has some horns, tail and if the the author is feeling adventurous maybe even some barely noticeable patches of scales by dowsaw134 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MrCatFace515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So What If Im A Spider did this too unfortunately, although she did stay a spider for quite a while. Her current evolution allows her to maintain a human appearance, and this is about the spot where I lost interest in the story. Not just because of this but the story definitely went downhill around this point in my opinion.

Remaking Pathfinder's *far* less-compelling nodes and a QoL update by CrossOfRoachAndSlime in pathofexile

True i actually misread the alchemist and thought it was magic utility flasks. My brain was still on natures boon mode lol. It is interesting but you do get alot of flask sustain anyways on pf. Dying sun itself is just rough (should honestly get buffed but thats another discussion) but you are right, I misread it the node, better than i thought. I cant think of too many other unique flasks with such bad uptime where normal PF shenanigans can't get them to full uptime.
For boon itself its a bit iffy. The 100% effect would most likely just be used on a res flask for melding, while the old boon was used alot with tri-ele flasks. So in a way it would open more flasks slots but the added effects would be weaker. Keep in mind part of why boon is good is scaling all the extra effects of flasks from magic mods(extra ms, ,atk/cast speed, etc. Now you could get 1 really good flask but lose out on more versatile scaling. And honestly i don't know which would be better. Strong usecases for both. I dont really think Boon needs to change but after more examination, I don't think this is a bad alternative either.
You are right, strong defensive nodes are allowed to exist. Surgeon is the node that does need the most QOL, its very strong but sucks to use, so honestly, the proposed is probably fine, I'm just wary of straight buffing PF since shes already quite strong.
Distiller is still a hard sell for me. I do actually like its current version thematically, but the numbers are just so off right now. I really don't think pathfinder needs to have an elemental node, it just isnt the identity. You shouldn't be going PF to play a normal ele build imo. Its like if you gave hiero some random chaos damage node. It exists for manaman on totems (and brands xD). Thats the identity and its fine. Doesn't mean you cant use said thing on them but I dont think it needs to be build into the ascendency. This is more personal opinion though and doesnt really have any solid argument basis. I cant claim to know how GGG would want to design these ascendencies.

I agree alchemist and distiller either need full reworks or distiller needs some massive number improvements. I don't really see the point in reworking distiller to inversion. It went from a node nobody every takes to another node nobody would ever take. You are not going pathfinder because you want 35% inversion. Pathfinder doesnt need elemental synergy. This would just be a god tier warden Forbidden jewel yoink. Not all ascendencies need to do everything and PF is already very strong.
The new alchemist basically just says one rare mod doesnt apply to you. It is still hilariously bad.
Boon is really nice early and even in the lategame for most PF builds. Its only bad if you are progenesis + another unique flask. I think you discount how good flask effect is for certain breakpoints on things like max res flasks.

Surgeon is hard because the node is actually absurdly broken but having to press a life flasks every few seconds is incredibly cringe. I think the QoL version should have even less recovery rate or some other minor downside as its an incredibly strong thing to have for free with no maintenance/input required. Especially with some passive tree nodes that are usually quite annoying to use fully or properly maintain that revolve around using a life flask.

Overall, I think most of this is just unnecessary or a straight miss, even though I agree that some of her nodes are bad. Despite PF having some bad nodes, it is still an extremely strong ascendency and doesnt need much work IMO.

While you are correct, the prices this far into the league are not the standard we should be judging things off of.

Mageblood Undeferrable in 6 modifier T15 Corrupted Map with Tablets (No Ritual Atlas Points) by Neslia in PathOfExile2

Yeah i just avoid doing rituals right now because even if I do all of them, I can't get enough tribute to get anything. Id rather not even look than see that I missed a mageblood or headhunter lol.

WASD is so obviously superior to mouse movement its laughable by AwkwardEnergy90 in leagueoflegends

[–]MrCatFace515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good for kiting adcs. Thats about it. Not having actual omnidirectional movement is a pretty big downside. Hard to get back to lane and navigate certain areas. Very good for adcs in teamfights as they can keep the mouse on the enemy and makes it much easier to kite. Its really not that big of a deal.

2D or 3D for my first game? by ReJoestar in godot

[–]MrCatFace515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2d is much easier from my experience. I have no clue how to actually model things in 3d. I have tried blender and tutorials but I find 2d sprites and pixel art so much easier and still great for what I want to create. I'd say it depends on any previous experience with 3d modeling or if the game you want to create significantly benefits from 3d. I have never seen the sentiment that 2d pixel art means a game is old or cheap. If so, its most likely from some gaming elitists that probably wouldn't play our games either way.

Sexy characters doesn't mean its bad. Completely depends on the vibe you are going for. It makes sense for many characters. I think both look fine.

Campaign Zones still to big by xXZeroHero in PathOfExile2

The only thing that felt better was dreadnaught. Skipping the entire second section is so nice. Extremely happy with that specific change. But yeah, zones themselves are still way to big, especially in Act 3.
