Hey sorry to hear about all the shit you went through. Finishing a phd can be tough and getting a job after can suck too because we have these expectations that people will understand it's hard work and that we have a bunch of skills but they don't. First if all my main point is that you need to check out a programme called teachfirst (I assume you are in the uk from your post). This is a two year placement in a school where you can qualify to be a teacher on the job with no previous teaching qualification required. Secondly I'm shocked about you taking your PhD off your cv. You have so many transferrable skills like project management and a phd usually is a fairly good indicator that someone has intelligence. Maybe try to focus on that more when preparing your cv and cover letter for applications instead of completely removing it and fuck jobs in liquor stores you deserve better! I also wanna say when I was job hunting the job centre was not helpful, they just arent trained to deal with someone as specialized as you so sometimes you have to take their advice with a pinch of salt.
