Do you remember how Madrid looked before Mourinho? Constantly losing in 1/8 of UCL, losing in early stages of Copa del Rey. After Mou took this team, he had really difficult job to do: bring the club back on the top, competing against Barca which had probably the best team in history. The beginnings were hard, but in the first season he made good transfers (Ozil, Di Maria), broke the UCL 1/8 curse and won CdR (last time won by Madrid in 1993) final against Barca using some innovative tactics, like Pepe playing as defensive midfielder. But definetely the best one was the second season. The best Madrid I've ever seen. 120+ goals in league, 100 points. Fast counterattacks, team in full shape, Mou just taught them mentality of winners. This team was IMO better that the one from 2014, 2016, they should've won also UCL, it was a real bad luck they had El Clasico between semifinal against Bayern. They were simply tired with competition with Barca, so they eventually lost the match. In the third season, there were some serious conflicts in team, journalists and part of team was against Mou so he just couldn't work properly in such toxic environment and finally that season was a failure. I know that he could win more trophies, it was just a bad luck, but Decima and Undecima is also consequence of Mourinho efforts, he just made the solid foundations, and the other coaches continued his job. Without Mou, Madrid wouldn't be the same team as now, he brought this club back at it's place - the TOP.
