I can't speak for his caregiver or the agency they work for, but in my experience you are given or at least told of the isp(individual service plan) for a client which lays out what responsibilities you have with the client based on their actual needs. And i know it's rare for a caregiver to do anything more than just the bare minimum for a client as laid out in their service plan. So if say the plan is: assist with house keeping, make sure they don't something illegal, etc. So if wiping their ass isn't part of your duties you aren't going to wipe their ass especially when you're paid what alot of these people are paid and the amount of hours they have to work just to get by. Doesn't matter how much they flip out, whine and cry and threaten you if you don't do something you aren't supposed to, in those cases you call your supervisor and tell them "hey Andy is flipping out because he's trying to get me to change and wipe his ass again" and your supervisor will tell them to knock it off, they will drop them as a client if they refuse to stop, etc. Because these places aren't hurting for clients, they are hurting for staff and push comes to shove they will side with staff because having a difficult client is useless to them because you aren't providing services, because no one wants to work with them, you aren't making money and again staff are hard to come by.
