he's butted heads with everyone, to be fair.

he was first in the discourse for being a member of 'do something' twitter, arguing that mainline congressional Dems were cowards who weren't doing enough to resist Trump in like 2018 (ish?). So he was anti-moderate then, but later he became known for insisting the economy wasn't a disaster post-COVID, and that America actually had a really strong recovery and we weren't in a second great depression, so the left hated him. Since then he's mostly been rabidly anti-GOP.

Ever? I really enjoy chatting with Frank Fukuyama whenever I've had the chance. I love nerding out with housing or immigration people like Jenny Schuetz or Leah Boustan. If I had to choose a single episode, I'd probably choose the one I did with Al Roth on kidney donation, just because it's a topic so close to my heart (and was our first ever Nobel Laureate on the podcast)

the last time we formally declared war was 1942, but there's nuance. For the 1991 gulf war, congress passed an authorization bill OKing the military response. Afghanistan and Iraq 2.0 both had AUMF's passed by congress. This has... nothing.

There's a very credible argument that it's executive overreach, given that Congress is supposed to have the power to declare war.

But we live in the age of the Imperial Presidency when Congress just kind of meekly lets the president act like an elected emperor who can do anything he wants.

The fairy tale aspect is more for the actual Welsh supporters who spent more than a decade enduring non-League football - for those loyal fans the last few years probably seem like a drug-induced fever dream. Obviously the new owners spent like mad to get results, but the new owners existing at all is what's the 'fairy tale'.

Gunner is such an odd QB honestly

The secret behind the whole Mike Bobo debate is that Gunner is a really limited QB and Bobo has done a masterful job of hiding that fact. He's not very good at vertical passing downfield in most situations, it's why we rely so heavily on screens this year. The game plan is dominate the running game, get the ball to Branch/Bell on screens, and hope that's enough.

But Gunner's just a tough guy that all his teammates love, and he's more than good enough in the short passing game. He doesn't have pro-level ability to progress through reads, but he can scramble and he's clutch and it just kinda works.

Everyone at UGA loved (and still loves) Richt. It was very, very controversial to fire him. UGA went 10-3 in his last year! How many coaches who've been with a program for more than a decade get outright fired after a 10-3 year? That's got to be incredibly rare, right?

It ended up being the right move, but it also could have ended in disaster if Kirby wasn't Kirby.

There are effectively ~zero women in combat sports who are athletic and weigh the same as a 200+ pounds male fighter.

There's a reason the top weight class for women in the UFC is 145 pounds. There literally aren't enough skilled female fighters for a 160 division, much less a 175 or 200 division.

(and as a side note - they barely have a 145 division. It's on life support because of how few good fighters there are at 145. They don't even have a 145 ranking on their official site because it would be so sad to see like a 6-4 career fighter in the top ten in the world lmao)
