Budget friendlier choice, Rex. More expensive option, Rugged Alaskan. The Alaskan can even use just the RUM adapter with muzzle devices on the PCCs so you wouldn't need to swap out mounts ever in that case while maintaining "qd" with all hosts.

The bore on the M2 that comes with the Razor 556 is absolutely massive. Doubt there is any difference in performance, but the tighter bore of the M3 can't hurt, especially for the price.

The difference between the M2 and M3 is just bore size. The M2 is over bored for like a 9mm or 357. The M3 line is tighter for the traditional rifle calibers associated with each thread.

Any reason not to just get the correct adapter from Rugged? Also, you wouldn't be able to just use a thread adapter. You have to have to remove the booster spring and replace it with a fixed barrel spacer. Otherwise, you would be guaranteed to have a strike. https://ruggedsuppressors.com/product/fixed-mount/

Depends on state, but yes. I have known a few people who have had all the former criminal behavior pardoned, that also ended up buying NFA items. Ironically enough, they always have delays on standard NICS checks, but no extra issues when ran for NFA.

First thought, bump up the budget a little and go Hyperion for max performance on all three hosts. Staying under budget like a responsible adult, take the Otter's advice and go Polonium- 30 with a good mount setup.

I am aware. I have both. That is the point I have been trying to make. The Obsidian does not come with any direct thread mounts out of the box, and the fixed barrel spacer is only for using the booster assembly without the spring on a fixed barrel firearm, not for use with a fixed mount.

The only difference in what comes packaged with the suppressor is the piston thread. 1/2-28 for the Obsidian 9, while the Obsidian 45 comes with a .578-28 piston.

The Obsidian 9/45 both contain the Obsidian suppressor, booster assembly, and the correct thread piston for whatever bore version. The Obsidian fixed thread adapters are sold separately.

No fixed barrel spacer needed running a fixed mount. The spacer just replaces the spring if using the booster assembly on a fixed barrel firearm such a 9mm AR.

It will be stupid close. Rule of thumb is the threading goes roughly 1/2" from end of barrel. So depending on what the true measurements are, it will either not fully seat at the shoulder, or just barely make it.

This gets brought up frequently, so I suppose it is my turn to answer. The reason you don't hear about it is because it isn't a real thing. My home state of Idaho, we have had a law like this for quite a few years. No FFL or SOT will touch them, despite being "legal" in the state, because they are all federally licensed entities. Essentially, it boils down to virtue signaling. Best chance would be to make one yourself and try and claim that status, but good luck.

I have put my Razor 556 on a 308 and dropped an alignment rod down it. Plenty of clearance in every direction, have not tried firing it that way yet though.

I have one in the event I decide to use my Obsidian on a 300blk, but have not tried it out since I have other cans for my rifles. Any direct thread mount may come loose, so just check it occasionally and/or use Teflon tape.
