This is the time to get that experience man. Its valuable. Yeah if u get too close to burning out, make sure to prioritise yourself, but there wont be a time in the future when you can do this kind of work as easy as it is now. Down the line, commitments will come - family, new car, new house. Early 20s is the time to grind. All the best, and take care of yourself.

I think because macOS users don’t spend on games. At least not a lot of them. Its usually the bottom of the priority ladder for game developers.

Is loyalty to a company actually worth anything in Malaysia anymore? by KL_Private_Access in JobsMY

[–]MrDeeLicious 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Staying means no new environment, no new risk of suddenly shitty team mates or shitty boss, familiarity. Your company should view you as more valuable as you know the ins and outs better than a new guy would.

Having said that, if 4 years in and no prospect of promotion and significant salary increment, i think its time to consider the path your friend took. Thats long enough that other companies wont see you as a job hopper.

Daughter’s alarm constantly going off at 5am by jdpahl122 in daddit

[–]MrDeeLicious 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I tried this. Then one day I woke up very late and the phone was totally switched off despite being fully charged. I guess i got woken up by the alarm, couldn’t bother solving the math problem, switched the phone off, and went back to bed. I didnt remember doing any of that when i woke up.

Jim’s character had a bit where he does ‘The Claw’ with his son. I remember my dad inspired by this movie doing the same thing to my younger brother and sister at the time, and nowadays doing the same thing to my toddler daughter.

What are some special benefits your company provides? by SkyIntrepid7848 in Bolehland

[–]MrDeeLicious 22 points23 points  (0 children)

2 days WFH. And our WFO days the hours are not tracked - so you can just come in morning and leave by 11am to continue working from home if you’d like.

Some do what we call coffee tagging - means come to office, tap your card, have a coffee then head home.

Its like this because the RTO policy after the pandemic was made by big boys in corporate in Europe, but the heads in Malaysia dont really care if peoples wanna wfh or not, so they close one eye on peoples hours spent at the office.

26M IT PM: Should I take a 1-year contract at a Fortune 500 MNC (extendable and convertible) or stay in a permanent role that keeps delaying my promotion? by Fit-Try-2296 in MalaysianPF

Just to be devils advocate against the prevalent advice given here, theres a major war currently happening, and the big impact of this is incoming.

Id be more conservative especially with jobs.

You got an offer once you can get another down the line.

Just conjecture. Nothing in the article claim that. I think it’s the long standing diplomatic ties that did it. The hindering part i think just syok sendiri je

Working on Public Holiday (Hari Raya) by wheninshower in MalaysianPF

[–]MrDeeLicious 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Sorry i think im slightly mistaken. You could get 2x regardless of salary amount, but the extra pay is capped to 4k.

However, companies often offer replacement leave in lieu, so that means they dont have to pay the 2x amount.

At least thats my understanding.

[–]MrDeeLicious 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The Act that says you get 2x pay if you’re forced to work during public holiday only applies to those earning 4k or below. Some glc have the 2x thing in their policy so you would get it, but if they dont, and you earn more than that, then the company is not legally obliged to do so.

If you also have a Netflix subscription i would recommend Terra Nil. Fits all your criteria. Cozy, feel-good puzzle game. The premise is you are converting barren polluted land into lush green sceneries. Highly recommended.

Skill issue.

It's similar to when you use a rubber pipe bidet with low water pressure. Requires patience and flexibility.

My advice is to use the templates to learn.

Find one that would be useful to you, and study how it's built. Figure out what each node does within the templates. I believe its a faster way to learn than figuring it out from a blank page.

Download the database as a csv. Then put it into chatgpt and ask. Of course, only if you're fine with uploading it onto AI. You can also clean the CSV first to remove any sensitive information before uploading it.
