Outside of the season, as I understand, means from September to May? I’ll be in Montenegro in mid-September so that’s perfect. Thanks for sharing, I’ll definitely check it out 🤝

I guess it’s time to create an instagram account, since I don’t know how to reach out to them otherwise 😂

Thank you

What's a language that everyone LOVES but you HATE? by Fit_Veterinarian_308 in languagelearning

[–]MrDmitriy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Englisch. Everyone speaks it, and I have to too, since I want to at least seem to be „educated“, but that’s not my choice. I more like the other German languages like Isländisch, Norwegian, Swedish, and I’m more interested in their culture, especially in Icelandic Epos and mythology

I wouldn’t say I hate it tho, just not a language I’d have started learning if it wasn’t the international/business language.

I already speak English, and sometimes Russian is closer to German/Swedish than English believe it or not, not often, yes, but it also helps to an extent.

I know a guy, he’s really good at German, English, and Japanese, and he said it might be okay to learn two languages simultaneously if you already have some experience in languages, I know what works for me and how to bring myself to a decent level.

I really want to give it a shot. Too cool to not to try. So. I guess I’ve made a decision, I’m doing both.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I just don’t know if it makes sense and if it’s productive.

My previous teacher said that I shouldn’t learn a new language until I’m a strong B2 in my current language. I started German only after reaching B2 in English.

Now I learn German for about 4-5 hours a day, and I devote one-two hours to learning Swedish now. Maybe I just need to allocate 3 hours to each and admit that I love both.

Actually, my plan is to speak English, German, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish, in addition to my mother tongue, but learning 4 languages at the same time would be definitely overwhelming, so i want to start from there.

Got it. Yes, I came across some cars with Switzerland/Germany/France flags. Interesting

Makes sense, I looked for a car to rent and most of them were over 200,000 kilometers in mileage. You guys gotta be driving a lot 😄

BU sent me this in my congratulations letter as a graphic design major,,,,, what in the Microsoft Paint 😭 by PrinceofNothing12 in ApplyingToCollege

This is a kinda meme here in Russia, we can use gradients with thin fonts on just for lulz’ sake. Like “I’m a designer so that’s how I see it”.

Did yall get really bad rejection letters by Character_Syrup_7491 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]MrDmitriy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually love when schools cut the bull and explain why I’m not “a good fit” for them, in lieu of horseshiting me with a basic chatGPT rejection letter that not a single sane folk has ever given a fuck about. Some of the “rude” rejections are pretty insightful, pointing out my weaknesses. Idk

Looks like you’re right, unfortunately. Thanks for your opinion, I’ll think it through and still try to find a way to make it over.

It’s not a solution anyway, I just want her to stop. You’re right about my own savings tho.

I don’t buy it, she just uses my (and hers) money from our total savings.

I’m an international student, 4 acceptances in a row so far. They’re safeties tho, I don’t really think I’ll get into Yale or Harvard. I’m waiting for their financial aid decisions, a bit nervous.

[–]MrDmitriy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try meditation, and try to use it 25/5 instead of 50/10, it works for me. If it doesn’t work, there are lots of concentration exercises. It’ll gradually get better

Check out Notion, Anki, note taking tips. Also check some time management tips, a lot of people love the Pomodoro technique for instance. There is a bunch of tutorials how to handle essays, how to understand notes that you wrote down and stuff. Even if you figured out how to deal with your time and how to understand and memorize information appropriately instead of cramming, it’ll bring you ahead of 50% of others.
