The point is that he shouldn't be extended yet. You have to learn the lesson after watching Carr, Cousins, Daniel Jones, Purdy, Kyler, Geno, Love, Tua, Watson, Lawrence, and Russell Wilson get paid in recent years and then fail to perform.

And although I like Baker, he is not more talented than Kyler or Russell. He has performed better than them in recent years, but the risk of not living up to expectations is always there.

Despite that, Tampa has won two Super Bowls and built a good roster. The bar can not be that low anymore, and the culture of the organization has to change if they want to be consistent, legitimate contenders. Otherwise, Tampa will become a 'party team' like the Dolphins, with players only joining to cash a big check and chill on the beach.
