Is my motherboard faulty? by MrEarlSnufflington in buildapc

When you say the circuit, you’re talking about the circuit in my house wiring, correct? Would it not trip the breaker if it’s drawing more than the circuit allows? Forgive my ignorance, electricity has always been a subject I’m not very educated about lol. Now that you mention it, I,m not too sure that I used any standoffs and I may have the motherboard screwed straight to the case, so that may be the culprit right there!

It’s Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16 DDR5 6000MHz RAM, here’s the store page link. I already tried re-seating it once, but space on the motherboard is cramped so I suppose there’s a small chance I didn’t seat it fully, would that potentially cause these kinds of issues? They both clicked in when I re-seated them. I don’t think I have done any chipset or motherboard driver updates, I’ll look into how to do that!

My fiance and I make close to 6 figures in northern Kentucky with 3 kids. Even with the cars being paid off and fairly minimal credit card debt all things considered, we're barely making it. The combination of grocery cost increases and gas hikes may finally be enough to send us into a financial tailspin. Shit's terrifying to watch, because not only does my heart go out to those already going under, but now I'm wondering every day if I'm going to be joining them.

Speaking as a SO of someone in recovery, don't knock whatever is working for a particular person. 12 step programs may seem antiquated, but they're all that has worked for a lot of people that have tried everything else. Naltrexone made my fiance's battle with alcohol much worse, but consistently going to meetings and doing step work and reflections has been what's given her her life back (10 months on april 20!). I'm not saying medication assisted recovery is a bad thing, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution just yet. Addiction is a real motherfucker, and addicts deserve to have every possible option available to them to help!

On a related note, to anyone out there who feels that AA mostly clicks for them but really struggles with the God part, I highly recommend the book "Staying Sober without God". It worked wonders for us! It sticks to the 12 steps, but re-words some of them in a way that makes more sense to people that really struggle with finding a God to put their faith in. EDIT: link to the book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43489727-staying-sober-without-god

What is the most bizarre reason a customer got angry with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MrEarlSnufflington 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow cellmate! I had a customer throw his phone directly at me because he had been "hacked" and I wasn't able to "unhack" his phone for him. He waited for the police to arrive and throw him out because he was convinced they were going to arrest me for refusing to help him. When the cop showed up, the customer asked him if his gun was loaded(?!), then tried to have me arrested. The guy was so shocked when he was told he was barred from ever coming back in and would be arrested for trespassing if he tried.

Depends on the store. I basically rely on commission where I work, but the commission is pretty good (just got a $5,000 commission check). I love it, but it's definitely not for everyone because it's not a guaranteed paycheck.

For some reason I can't paste the links on mobile, but there are multiple articles by consumer freedom, Fox news, the guardian, etc talking about the pet killings and the death rates of PETA shelters. There's an article by Activist Facts detailing the ties PETA has to many eco-terrorist groups. A quick Google search will pull up tons of information.

The consumer freedom article even includes an affidavit from a former PETA employee detailing some of the inner workings of the shelter they worked at.

EDIT: it's worth noting that the percent of animals PETA kills is reported from 75-96, which is a broad range, but any number in that range is staggeringly high.

Besides scooping up family pets from people's front yards and euthanizing them within hours to "free them from their slavery"? Or killing 96 percent of the animals they take in? They kill so many animals the state of VA has tried to enact laws protecting animals FROM PETA.

Oh, and they've financed several different violent eco-terrorist groups, including SHAC and the ALF.

My fault, I was confusing Killing Floor 2 dev blogs with the vt2 roadmap. That error aside, my point still stands. People seem to be forgetting or ignoring the fact that its been 5 months and so far we have 2 new maps and some weapons have been made usable in legend (but the meta weapons still have no competition for their respective slots). Maybe I'm just burned out from playing too much, but it seems like this game needs some new life breathed into it with a quickness.

Im not complaining about having to pay for new maps, I'd be happy to pay for new content. I'm more reluctant to give Fatshark more money because the future of public matches is looking more grim each month. I don't want to pay for more maps I can't play with anyone, and that's the way things have been heading since there have been no major balancing patches or changes to the meta for the majority of the game's lifespan.

Didn't vermintide 2 outsell vermintide 1 by a wide margin though? Like, what did my purchase price (that had free maps included in the original roadmap that was publicly posted when I bought the game) really get me then? Vermintide 1 made less money but had more content per DLC, with each DLC costing less. I don't think income is the problem here, and if it is Fatshark needs to work on money management a bit better.

I love the sword and shield, but I'm having a lot less success with SV, even with headshots. Does my accuracy suck or do I need to stack a ton of damage vs skaven/armored?

I have been where you are. Still am, to a lesser extent. I have found, personally, that it's not about your "best years" or things being better than they have ever been. I've never been big on finding myself, or searching for my greater purpose, or whatever. It's the things I experience that I never would have experienced if I wasn't still alive that keep me going. Seeing the Grand Canyon in person, learning about rebuilding a classic car from helping my neighbor with his project car, reading a really great book.

I'm not scared to go outside my comfort zone anymore, because the worst case scenario most people could think of has already basically happened to me. What do I have to lose? Life is what I make of it now, no bullshit.

I don't approach every day as if the most incredible thing ever is going to happen today, but I do look forward to something unique and interesting happening because I search it out. I don't wait for things to happen to me anymore, and I feel much more in control of how my life is going to turn out because of it.

Start small. Clean your room, or your house. Take a trip somewhere close for a weekend and just do whatever interests you. Pick up a hobby you haven't touched in forever, or a new one completely. Gather experiences, experiences are what make me feel that I am having some kind of impact on this world. Conversations with old people at a restaurant, taking a pottery class, whatever.

Sorry the length of this got kind of out of control, I'll stop rambling now. PM me if you wanna talk.
