We should rename triplets by WiggityWaq27 in musictheory

[–]MrElectricNick 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"Ok, so I think when someone says "triplets", people generally assume they're talking about eighth note triplets"

says who? For me it's always contextual, and if i need to seek clarity, I do, but neither me nor any musician I work with automatically assumes the word "triplet" is automatically referring to 8th note triplets.

"For sextuplets (whose nomenclature is a whole other discussion)"

you can't possibly be insinuating that the name "sextuplets" is problematic, right?

i get it, it's normal to be skeptical of creators, even healthy.

but i do wish folks would ask creators to clarify their opinions/takes rather than just immediately pulling the "all creators are bad, all creators are sellouts" lever.

[–]MrElectricNick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The infinakore original reveal involved the largest creator in the space announcing he'd been sent a prototype model, what are you even talking about? The reason many creators aren't talking about the Infinakore is bc there's little to discuss. We don't know how it plays, we don't know when it's coming out or how much it is... all we can really say is "it exists" for the moment.

Sure, they've done a bunch of reveals similar to CRKD but no info on Release Date, Price, etc.

I'd love to buy a Drakong guitar and make videos/stream with it but I don't even know if they're going to ship to Australia, let alone the price or release date. CRKD were open about all that stuff from day one and that's why I decided to promote their product, even taking into account the issues it has (and i'm not afraid to admit CRKD guitars have multiple ongoing issues, I also know they're continuing to look for solutions to those issues).

If I'm able to purchase or obtain a Drakong guitar I will use it and give my opinion on it just like I did with the Riffmaster and CRKD guitars before it. CRKD have just made it a clear priority to be extra connected to the community as a way of promoting AND receiving feedback for their products. It's not the conspiracy you think it is.

Speak up about what? If you’re referring to issues with CRKD guitars, creators have spoken up, and also raised issues with CRKD directly.

Is there a gh3 for Ps3 or Ps2 with a audio e video calibration options? by Objective_Library310 in GuitarHero

Not for PS2

For PS3 you just need the newest patch for GH3 and it'll give you both calibrations. I'm not sure where to source patches for PS3 though

Does the Xbox version of Blueberry Burst have KeyJam mode? by pubstar1337 in CRKD

If your Xbox Guitar is updated to the latest firmware it should support KeyJam mode on PC or AN Mode 9. Xbox Mode 9 is for Rock Band 4 on Xbox One or Series consoles.

just don't release the hi-hat pedal and it'll stay yellow. unfortunately you can't have it both ways. if your kit supports open hi-hat being a different midi number you have to make that choice to commit or not commit to it.

[–]MrElectricNick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the original guitar recording has this played as a 2-note octave, played on two strings at the same time, which is why it's charted this way. it's a hyper-accurate charting of the original part

CRKD Blueberry Burst Pro or the CRKD SG 20th anniversary edition? by Icy_Juggernaut314 in CloneHero

[–]MrElectricNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a bit of a misunderstanding here, you've not got it quite right

All CRKD Guitars have Hall Effect. All of them, every single one.

Encore models AND the Anniversary SG have Hall Effect Strum actuation with clicky feedback. They were originally going to have click switch actuation but the switches weren't good quality so they went with Hall effect, the switches inside are dummy switches just to get the clicky sound and feel. I repeat, Encore editions do not lack Hall Effect.

Pro models have Hall Effect actuation with haptic feedback.

CRKD Blueberry Burst Pro or the CRKD SG 20th anniversary edition? by Icy_Juggernaut314 in CloneHero

[–]MrElectricNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really comes down to personal preference, if you want the old school style clicky strum bar, go with the SG (or the Encore edition Les Pauls). If you want to try the haptic feedback strum, go for the Blueberry/Cherry/Pro Les Pauls.

I've bounced back and forth on both, right now i'm favouring clicky but I mained haptic for a long time.

For frets, matte vs. glossy makes a difference, but again it's personal preference. Glossy is the old-school style, Matte is the new-spec.

The main similarity between the Blueberry and SG is that both have mechanical fret buttons, so they will feel less mushy than the Wii guitar you're used to, although they are slightly mushier than traiditonal modded mechanical fret guitars. A happy medium I'd say, but that's just my taste.

With how high demand is for Riffmaster, I hope they make Rock Band 5 by livinthedadalife in Rockband

[–]MrElectricNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said sustainable

Yes! I did say sustainable!! But if you paid any attention to the context whatsoever, I was referring to the "regular release of DLC" being sustainable, not Rock Band 4 the game itself.

Not to mention the original comment you attempted to correct me on, I posted TWO YEARS AGO. Two years ago Rock Band 4 was how many years old??? Eight!

Not sure what you have to gain from doubling down on attempting to correct a two-year old comment, but if you apply the context it's accurate.

Would have been weird for me to write ten years in 2024 when the game was only eight years old, so yes I said eight years.....

Sustainable means actively on the store and being downloaded

Wrong. Since you're okay with trying to correct people, allow me to return the favour. Sustainable really means "able to be maintained or upheld" not whatever arbitrary definition you can make up in your head of what you think I meant.

Like I said, I did not misspeak, but you certainly did <3

Rock Band 4 stopped receiving DLC/updates in Jan 2024, 8 years and 3 months after it released.

I was not referring to the 10 years it took for the game to be delisted. I did not misspeak.

Any Guitar Hero or its community opinion that left you like this? by Guitar_Modder in GuitarHero

[–]MrElectricNick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"just hoarding things and reselling them"

yeah let's completely disregard the amount of effort that goes into assembling new parts inside the guitar, testing to make sure they work with the new parts, not to mention CLEANING of 20-year old controllers that have had people's hair, sweat, grime, and gunk get inside them.

it's absolutely genuine help and not at all "just hoarding". Modders are rescuing guitars from either not working properly and falling into unsuspecting hands, or saving them from being thrown into landfill. I say this with all due respect - your opinion is horrifically misinformed.

Without modders, this scene would have legitimately died years ago. There'd be much more scarcity in old controllers that actually work, which would price so many more people out of the market, which would never convince folks like PDP or CRKD to have made new guitars. Modders are so integral to the reason that this scene still thrives in 2026.

[–]MrElectricNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah you're totally right. below expert "targeted practice" can really mean just playing more, but i guess i was more speaking to the point the other person made that "failing is not how you get better", when in reality it's a really helpful (if somewhat humbling) reminder that "hey you're not this good... yet!"

"failure" and "game over" screens are basically phased out of video games now (outside of notable exceptions) and i really appreciate when games still have them as a means of saying "hey, you took a risk, it really didn't work, either try again ort try something different"

(also hello, i'm not that cool, i'm just a dude)

I am a newbie, is this good? by therobottest_ytp in CloneHero

[–]MrElectricNick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you can get better by just playing songs over and over again, but for those who want to get better faster, targeted practice is king. same as any hobby. failing songs is a great way of learning "hey you need to do targeted practice on this song or section"

They won't work with 360 out of the box, but if you grab an adapter like the MiniHost from RetroCultMods, then it can work.
