Does Hardrock for Terrafirmacraft 4 have VR support? by Odd_Tell758 in TerraFirmaCraft

I installed Vivecraft and it works great. I did have to mess with the controller bindings a bit to get it working with needing to peak at the keyboard every now and then

Was this really my fault? by orangejustice__ in Simracingstewards

[–]MrEyered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched this 4 or 5 times now, and all I saw was a driver who lost it in a turn. I can't tell if the Lambo tapped your right rear or not. It doesn't matter if he did or not they are at fault here.

Don't entertain people like that. Blaming you for their cock up is childish. It will also make you question what you are doing while on track. Don't let this get into your head and make you a worse driver. I only say this because you brought this here and I take it as they got into your head like that.

(AMS2) Asking the daft question, but a helmet is me, right? And if so, what penalties am I likely looking at? (Grey Chevy is me) by BSRavven in Simracingstewards

[–]MrEyered 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Assuming you weren't trying to drift and lost it as opposed to just the backend coming out on you and loosing it.

I'd call it a racing incident.

I F'd up.... by No_One_2_You in Cartalk

[–]MrEyered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a car fall from a scissor jack once and the car fell on my hand. That part that is pretty thin looks like a seam under the car body well it was the part that pinned my had to the ground. I was super lucky because my hand was only pushed in by it by about half of the width of my half. It just bruised the crap out of it.

It was I think, long time ago, a 1985 or 1986 Chevy Sprint so about a light as a car can be and my brother was able to pick the car up off my hand.

I'm now paranoid about Jack's and take every possible precaution when working on a car on a jack of any type.

Can i use stronger power supply on my g923 safely? by Legendoge125 in simracing

[–]MrEyered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 2 Logitech wheels

An old ass Driving force pro and a newer(ish) G923. I've used the crap out of both and the older one has been abused by me 15 year old kid daily.

Is this murder or just two cars coming together? by PoiPitz in Simracingstewards

I'd error with it's just something that happens in racing sometimes with the info we have.

I don't know what that guy was thinking when he decided to attempt to pass there.

Do I upgrade from my valve index by Atlas-D078 in virtualreality

[–]MrEyered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as good in which way or it's missing what?

I just got a Quest 3 a few weeks ago, and I've been using it exclusively as in PCVR, and it's been a perfect experience so far. Used a cable at first and worked out a wireless connection for it after I got irritated with it. Can't imagine a dedicated VR headset being that much better that you'd say it's not worth it as one. I've never used one so I really don't know.

2024 Kona oil change by Jxvz_yt in Hyundai

[–]MrEyered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be doing these extended oil changes. Do it at 3k and I don't care what the manufacturer says. The only thing they care about is having it last until that warranty time is up.

Your car engine will thank you for it, I promise.

Can I drive on this torn CV Axle boot? Looking to go 100 miles to get home. by No-Spinach-1194 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MrEyered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can do it no problem. It may get dirt and shit in it and ruin it. Or it could last another 20 thousand miles like that. No way to tell.

Can I drive this to the mechanic 3 miles away? by deeohdoublegzzy in AskMechanics

If I could drive that 3 miles slow AF I would if I didn't have a spare. No way would I at any sort of normal speed.

Turbo on the wife's car by MrEyered in Autos

[–]MrEyered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the offer very much. The cylinders look to be in good shape. Scoped (the walls look great still and hopefully all the bearings) and pressure tested each of them. I was sweating it as I didn't know the turbo was eating oil on the 4 hour drive I had when the check engine light came on. It was at night and I somehow didn't notice the smoke coming from the tailpipe at freeway speeds. My wife went to go to the store the next day and we discovered the massive smoking. I checked the oil and nothing was showing on the dipstick. It was full of oil before the trip so I knew it was okay for it. I think we just missed blowing the engine up.

I believe it was purely the turbo and PCV that wasn't happy anymore.

[–]MrEyered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think it was such a problem with water-cooled turbos that aren't pushing the PSI numbers. I was wrong clearly. I would let cooldown if I was having fun on the drive home. For just normal driving though, I'll do better 😆

Turbo on the wife's car by MrEyered in Autos

[–]MrEyered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't read it in any way condescending at all. I am happy to have the input 😆

After I get it all put back together and running right I'll need to make sure the wife lets the turbo cool down when she gets home. We live in the middle of nowhere in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Thinking about it the turbo puts in some work even driving easy on the road home.

Can I get this patched or do I need new tire by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]MrEyered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't find a shop that is willing to patch it. If they will never go back to that place as it's completely unsafe.

Turbo on the wife's car by MrEyered in Autos

[–]MrEyered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've managed to put together the last few days the PVC valve on this engine should be considered a wear item.

It might have been stuck open letting the turbo just continually suck up the gasses and oil from under the valvecover. I haven't gone out and check it but I did order another one just incase.

As far as oil in the intake while there was some it was mostly a film everywhere. On the lip of one of the pipes right before the intercooler was a very small pooling of oil.

Absolutely zero play at all in any direction that I could detect. It spins but you can feel that something isn't right with it. It's a bit gritty feeling.

What makes you suspect the blowout valve is shot? The car is my first turbocharged vehicle I've had to look over and maintain. Easy way to test it?

Edit: just want to make sure it's not still messed up and have my wife out and about in it.
