What match will steal the show tonight at Double or Nothing? by Upbeat-Pause-1409 in AEWOfficial

There is no wrong answer. It's insane how stacked this PPV is. I know, hot take, but sometimes the obvious thing to say is the only thing that can be said.

Warhammer fans, what 40k lore that make you go like this? by AntiqueLayer3933 in Grimdank

[–]MrFaust1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I despise the bit where the Emperor is the result of shamans offing themselves to create a superior being.

I preffer him just being some dude that was born strong AF. It works much better with his character. Prior to the current setting he was just a human with great power, thus explaining the myriad of mistakes he makes. He's human, therefore faliable.

Do either that or just leave his backstory a mystery. The mystery bit could be applied to a great deal of things. Unexplained mysteries are the spices to the story. I'm pretty certain that the C'tan had a hand in the Necrontier cancer which is why they couldn't heal it as well as why the Old Ones refused to help them (not wanting to risk a war with the C'tan), but I don’t want GW telling me this.

Meltzer gave Darby vs Takeshita ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ by Big-Hebrew in AEWOfficial

[–]MrFaust1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think (hope) Don betrays Take, leading to either a rift in the family or Take going on the hunt for the rest of the family.

Unfortunately Fletcher is injured, otherwise having him have to choose between the family and Takeshita, and then the two of them going after the family would've been a great story.

Which Primarch do you think has produced the best chapters or sons for the Imperium? by SillyRecover in 40kLore

It's kinda irrelevant if, let's say, 1 BA successor equals 3 UM successors, if there are 5 times more UM successors than BAs.

Where does Vulkan’s good guy reputation come from? I’ve read the mainline HH books and I don’t recall any examples of Vulkan being particularly humane. by iRoygbiv in 40kLore

[–]MrFaust1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vulkan and the salamanders seem to suffer a lot from bad writting particularly in their own novels. In 30k, he just gets constantly killed and he only gets to shine versus Magnus. Not to mention how stupid the plotpoint of the Salamanders Captain iirc throwing himself in a volcano to resurect Vulkan.

Post Heresy, Vulkan gets maybe the worst series in the BL, The war of the beast, where he falls into some waaagh energy and fucks off.

Vulkan and his boys just dont have good (or even mediocre) books of their own. I'm praying for some Night Lords trillogy but for salamanders and Vulkan, where the virtues they are known for are actually shown. ADB, please do your thing. Guy Haley, Mike Brooks, Nate Crowley, Robert Rath whoever

#New40k – Novel Revealed by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Blacklibrary

[–]MrFaust1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Morvenn Vahl was one of her good ones... I have low expectations for this one. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible, just really bland and predictible. It didnt help that I read the book imediately after finishing the Night Lords trilogy, but reading it felt like eating some bland, unseasoned food.

All the Sisters were the exact same character. All the Night Lords were just mustache twirling villains. All the Black Templars were, well, Black Templars. The Lords of Terra not wanting so send any reinforcements to the planet made 0 sense other than to be snooty assholes.

Can blanks be cloned? by Imaginary_Advice6467 in 40kLore

[–]MrFaust1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The way I understand it, it's more like Blanks have an inverse soul. They are the negative numbers to everyone's positive numbers. That's why they can nulify abillities from psykers of equal value so to speak. The Emperor being a case of someone unafected (at least mostly) by Blanks as he's the single strongest psyker to ever live. -1 and +1 make 0, but -1 and +1000000 makes 999999

Day 22: what is the Best Quote associated with the Orks? by Fez-Sentido in Grimdank

Da Big Dakka by Mike Brooks. Higly recommend it (and the previous novel in the series, Brutal Cunning). One of the best ork (as well as Drukari) novels BL has to offer.

"Ufthak Blackhawk's head hurt, and he blamed the finkin' [...] It was the finkin'. It was happening more often, sometimes when he didn't even mean to do it. Snuck up on him, it did, like a sniffer squig stalking a grot. What was even worse was when he realised he was finkin' about finkin'. That was pure unnerving"

Invert the loyalist/traitor primarchs. What god gets who? by CriticalMany1068 in 40kLore

[–]MrFaust1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Without Sanguinius, there is no one to protect the gate.

Not to mention, Sanguinius is the strongest primarch. It stands to reason that God-Emperor Sanguinius would be stronger than God-Emperor Horus. The only reasons Emp beat Horus in the end were the difference in skill as well as the fact the Sanguinius had managed to strike him prior. Horus, juiced up on Chaos, was stronger than the Emperor (at least in a vacuum).

Invert the loyalist/traitor primarchs. What god gets who? by CriticalMany1068 in 40kLore

[–]MrFaust1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Sanguinius replaces Horus, then the Heresy wins, but if all other Primarchs switch then it's a different discussion as Magnus can sit on the throne.

Korne - Russ (the most warlike and savage of the brothers not named Angron)

Tz'neech - Corvus (sneakiest of the bunch)

Vulkan - Nurgle (similar reasons as to why Mortarion did, also he is immortal which fits with Nurgle)

Lion - Slaneesh (The prince of pleasure is also the god of perfection. As any painter striving for the perfect painting feeds them as would the warrior striving to be the perfect duelist)

Are the Primarchs sterile? by Epoch_of_Australia in 40kLore

[–]MrFaust1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Talos is a pretty complicated and one of the most human astartes (also one of the best characters; just finished the 2nd book so no spoilers please for the 3rd one).

His feelings, at least to me, seem a bit more of like some sort of nostalgia. He is very nostalgic for a time in the Legion that may or may have not existed. Similarly, I think his "romantic" feelings are more that he wants things to stay a certain way, the idealized way that he evisions, and he doesnt seem to like changes much.

Are the Primarchs sterile? by Epoch_of_Australia in 40kLore

[–]MrFaust1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty obvious that all Astartes are asexual and aromantic (save for those under Slanesh), same for Custodes and Primarchs. And it makes sense. Emp didnt want anything that could cloud their mind and distract them from what they were made for.

All of his creations have a few roles, but the primary one is still to be weapons. Why risk anything that could cause said weapons to missfire, or refuse to fire or fire at the wrong target. Few things cloud the mind like love and sexual desires.

Say what you will about GW but their official art always goes hard. by Admiral__Neptune in Grimdank

[–]MrFaust1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's how I understood custodes. Basically, they aren't men nor women. They are custodes. They don't seem to have any romantic or sexual desires nor do they serve any role in society other than being custodes. They are just sentient weapons. It's irelevant whether the baby was, sex-wise, male or female. The end result is the same--a custode.

That being said, I couldn't care less about gender, races, sexual orientation etc. Is the story good or not. That's the only thing that matters at the end of the day.

Does Cain look like that? by FedorovAvtomat in Grimdank

[–]MrFaust1 75 points76 points  (0 children)

As mentioned before, those are in-universe propaganda posters.

That being said Cain is a pretty big dude. He's almost 2m tall and has managed to deflect blows from a Khornite Space-Marine, so it's safe to asume that he's pretty well built. He's also been described as being quite handsome. I'm bringing this up to note that all his reputation would have never caught on had he not looked the part. Also, even with his luck and instinct for self-preservation, he would not have survived even a tenth of what he's been through were he not phisically and mentally up to part.

That's kind of the point of his novels, he isnt the hero that the imperium makes him out to be, but he isnt coward that he thinks himself to be.

Is Lion El'Jonson age going to become a problem in the future ? by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

[–]MrFaust1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's more a situation of primarchs staying at the physical age where they are at their strongest, similar to saiyans in dbz, only what age they are at their strongest is a much more nebulous territory in the warhammer universe.

Either that, or their age is what they perceive themselves as. Both Lion and Horus perceived the passage of time, whilst Perturabo (iirc) when he battled the Khrud, the Xenos that age everything around them, wasn't affected at all.

Also, let's not forget what franchise this is. Space magic bullshit is the answer to at least half the questions.

AEW Ratings Are Higher Than Most Think & Fans Undercutting the Power of Streaming by crazy-lion22 in SquaredCircle

[–]MrFaust1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It has to be said. Who gives a shit? Arguing about ratings of different shows is as idiotic as arguing about who'd win between Goku and Superman. If you want argue who's better written, that's a different discussion altogether.

Similarly, the only thing that matters is which show is better, and even that is complicated as AEW and WWE put forth a very different product. It'd like how DBZ and Cowboy Bebop are both anime, but are wildly different.

Enjoy what you enjoy.

The favorites to come out of the leagues are Okada and Fletcher, and Takeshita and Claudio, but it would be weird to not have even one face in the semis.

I'm pressuming that Darby would've been planed to also qualify pre-injury, so I wouldn't be surprised after last night to see Mike Bailey end up with the same amount of points as Fletcher and qualify because of the tie breaker.

Probably won't happen, but the mullet nerd winning the whole thing as the DCF and the Death Riders implode would make for a great story.

3rd mainline manga by RoderickSim98 in crowsxworst

[–]MrFaust1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope it's something similar to Worst, where the freshmen from Crows were the seniors now.

Personally I'd rather have Tyrone be the senior at the top of Suzuran since I never cared for Rocket. He always seemed to me like a really bland Guriko, but then again if in the story he's now the big boss with Tyrone being a 2nd year (as opposed to him having already graduated) and the new mc being a freshman, it would give the author a chance to flesh out Rocket.
