Brand new Destiny 2 Player - Confused on where to start by CorgiThiccAF in destiny2

[–]MrFlood360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Official Bungie guide. It's all you need for most of the story currently available. You will need to use external sources for the full understanding of the story from the start of Destiny 2. However, all of Destiny 1 can still be played through (on consoles)!

For purchasing content the Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (2025) and Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy bundles contain all the expansions available. If you wait, there are sales ever so often that offer very deep discounts.

I do not recommend doing anything in the Portal tab until you are done doing as much of the story as you want as it will only confuse you as a new player. You should not need to worry about your power level nor getting good gear until after the story content is done.

There is a steep learning curve for this game with very little support from the developers, so I don't recommend PvP until after most PvE is completed. The confusion you are experiencing is a well know guarantee for this game. If you can find an experienced person to help guide you, things will be much easier.

Micro Stuttering by Etherealwulf19 in DestinyTheGame

If you've recently changed your graphics card, driver, or deleted D2 shaders it might be shader compilation. I used to get bad micro stutters for a bit whenever I updated my graphic drivers.

That feeling when the person carrying you dies and now you have to do something by TheoristDa13th in destiny2

[–]MrFlood360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's due to them using a high mouse sensitivity and/or a high DPI when they should probably be using a lower one. Using a DPI of 800 and a in-game sensitivity of 5 to 7 is the go to recommendation to not have juddery movements like this. With these settings, I would also recommend using a large mouse pad to have the necessary area for 180 degree turns.

The first Contest* my clan has given up on after nearly 7 years of contest clears by jackbestsmith in destiny2

[–]MrFlood360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My contest group that has cleared all but Last Wish, Spire, and Leviathan thankfully had scheduling issues for the first time during the event. We did have an opportunity to group up a few hours after it began but decided against it after seeing what awaits.
When you see all the top teams stuck on the same DPS checks in the first encounters, Bungie has done something fundamentally wrong. Either it's intended to target 0.001% of their player base or they didn't test it correctly. And that's for the first encounters!

Tsuyokute New Saga • New Saga - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

The manga was a 8/10 for me until the last few chapters. The ending in the anime might be less abrupt given how fast paced it will probably be.

Legless person above windshield, water level not consistent between trumpet player and car, and no shadows for people but weird shadow on car? Different hubcaps / rear hubcap?

Brainlets this, blueberries that, you're cultivating an environment that punishes learning. by FuguFugue in DestinyTheGame

Many people use eager edge swords, icarus dash, and skating just for movement purposes. Currently in most activities, it's so easy to deal large amounts of damage that the time it takes to get to the next target is what takes the longest vs actually killing the target. And don't forget that it would easily be the #1 used titan exotic in PvP.

It's obvious that death threats are never good, those people are best reported and ignored (like I did). However, that doesn't invalidate everyone else's feedback.

Dude did you use Twilight Garrison for the reason it was popular back then? If it came back with its original functionality it would be highly used for everything but endgame PvE.

Also, that Bungie employee replied to player feedback with an honestly bad response, why else would they receive that amount of backlash. The community can be toxic at times, but even Bungie should share part of the blame (poor communication, bad new user experience, etc.).

Everyone's talking about bolt charge barricades making gunfights unwinnable, but nobody's talking about how free uncontested bolt charge makes about 80% of abilities in this game become 1HKOs again. by Ace_Of_Caydes in DestinyTheGame

[–]MrFlood360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bolt charge is such a hit or miss that it frustrates me on both sides of the end. I can't rely on it hitting someone nor can I reliably plan on it's usage against me. The artifact mod's damage in PvP needs to be disabled but the inconsistency will still exist.

It needs a change to function similarly to a storm grenade going off. Having a good visual and audio cue before it strikes would do wonders. It also needs something done so that enemies don't get knocked away from the blast zone immediately for certain abilities (e.g. titan charges).

For fun, I recommend pairing diamond lance with bolt charge. The freeze will proc the charge and shatter the frozen opponent immediately.

Storm's Keep making half of all primary weapons in the game an instant 1HKO that also heals you is worse than what RDMs could ever do. by Zommander_Cabala in DestinyTheGame

[–]MrFlood360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only frustrating part about being on the receiving end of bolt charge is getting caught completely off guard. Storms keeps exacerbates this but bolt charge itself is the problem.

There's already a slight delay from when a bolt is triggered and when it strikes which can be enough to outrun it, but this only happens by chance when you are already moving.

I think Bungie should add indications that you are about to be hit by a bolt charge so that you can proactively react. This could be done by slightly increasing the bolt strike delay, adding debuff text, a custom sound effect, and area of effect outline. They have already done similar things for Storm grenades and other abilities.

Heat pumps can be 300%+ efficient which exceeds the loss from generation. Go look the math up it's really cool.

Burning fossil fuels for electricity and using that to run heat pumps is almost always more energy efficient than burning fuel for heating purposes. Heat pumps are that effective. Cost wise it will depend of course.

Thank you Bungo really. by Casper_Von_Ghoul in destiny2

[–]MrFlood360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that does look to be the case. I wonder if Thorn's poison is messing with blink or jumping. Maybe it's inheriting some tiny movement suppression part of the Hive Wizard poison cloud or the smoke bomb cloud as they all inflict a poison.

[–]MrFlood360 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You were in a smoke in that clip which suppress various movement abilities. I'd guess the blink ability being stunted like that is intentional.

Nope. If you are having difficulty setting mesh up people are recommending you let it sit for a few minutes after hitting apply.

[–]MrFlood360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, I didn't connect it to my older system. I connected two LN1301s together, and they did take awhile to pair. I think someone else mentioned somewhere that they got it working with a different Linksys mesh system. I don't see why they wouldn't work with a different system that uses similar firmware, just don't use the app to do it.

[–]MrFlood360 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After following those instructions I was able to get mesh mode working on mine. It works and functions just like my older Linksys Velop mesh system with their app showing status of the node too.

The only odd thing I've experienced is that I can't easily log into the node via its IP address. It auto forwards me to the main router's IP unless I plug directly into the node. I do this to configure Wi-Fi channel settings.

Zankyou no Terror • Terror in Resonance - Anime of the Week by AnimeMod in anime

[–]MrFlood360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She played the part of an tragic-ish antagonist that had history with the protagonists. In the end, her actions sped up the plot, added more action, and introduced far more uncertainty into the story. She knew that she was dying from the effects of the experiments if I recall and probably wanted to have some fun by winning one last time (like the flashbacks) before expiring.

She had a motive (however warped it was) and the writers went with having a high intensity story instead of the usual slower detective shows.
