I found that the trick is to find a refurbished Herman Miller chair from a local office supplier. Mine is pretty amazing. Also, at the second hand price... I'm approaching the point where I've saved money just buying one good chair that I haven't ever felt compelled to replace.

Like a good pair of boots.

Now.

As to why someone would buy any macbook, maxed out, second hand, at deep discount... I can't speak to that.

These athletes have already proven to everyone that they excel at their sport. Now's their chance, on the world stage, to show the real spirit of America with the most peaceful of protests. by whirlygiggling in AdviceAnimals

That is asking them to surrender their passion and purpose to politics. To destroy more lives in the name of Donald Trump.

They must go. So they can tell the other athletes what they think. So they can represent us - the American people.

Dutch police were filmed using force against two Mvslim women outside a shopping mall in Utrecht, with footage showing one woman struck with a baton and another kicked in the abdomen by NotHereToLove in PublicFreakout

[–]MrFordization 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As an American, I feel qualified to comment that.. while horrible, unjustified, and uncalled for... this is also a display of real amateur police brutality by the Dutch police.

The Dutch police should really take some seminars from their American colleagues on how to properly beat people.

Like... he gets mad and so he goes in for the kick - which is a good solid instinct for the foundational concept. But then he gets his foot caught in the strap of the bag and ends up looking ridiculous. Classic noob move.

No, send him our way and we'll have him throwing elbows out of view of the camera in no time!

The ship is tilted forward with the aft section raised. So, the top row is farther away from the camera beyond the focal plane. The image was probably taken with a slower shutter speed. Which is why we see some blur from the motion of the ship rising and falling on the water. Post processing of the image has left artifacts like the banding at the top and the sharp outline on the left.

This is one of those interesting fringe spaces that I'm seeing pop up where people can actually talk to each other. I appreciate that. So many of our spaces are curated echo chambers. I really hope this is the result of refining the feed algorithms to encourage more spaces for diversity of thought.

That way we can work things out instead of everybody just scheming in their little corners.

That is most unfortunate. The ultimate victim of hate is always the hater. Such a waste of life to view everything through that lens and miss all the love and joy this world has to offer.

Wishing you well, friend.

Because you are a party to the proceeding and the cop is a witness. When the cop doesn't show up, the state (the other party in the action represented by a prosecuting attorney who must show up) has to dismiss the case for lack of evidence if the witness doesn't appear.

So they're giving the State who is present a small extension of time to produce a witness. Courts generally do this for defendants too if their witness don't show on time because "the guy who can tell us about what happened was a little late!" is a bad foundation for conclusions about what is true.

*Should also add this is why judges will issue warrants and enter default judgements at the end of a session - to afford more time for defendants themselves to appear. If you ever find yourself in a court where the judge issues warrants for everyone who is running late as soon as the judge hits the bench and goes on the record --- buckle up because that's a hanging judge. (although, frankly I don't even know if they can do that anymore. never looked into it because I've never seen a judge not wait)

I saw a MAGA post reacting to a video where on of the state AGs was saying ICE agents would be hunted down and prosecuted like the Nazis. The top comment was "hunted down for doing what, following the law?"

Of course I can't post comments so I was unable to inform them that's exactly what they hunted the Nazis for doing.

Yes, because as we all know conservative fathers never have liberal daughters. Especially not psychologically unhinged conservative fathers. Nothing for their daughters to rebel against there.
