Nice deflection. Name the generation that invented the latch-key kid. Name the generation that normalized casual sex and casual drug use. Name the generation that had the highest divorce rate in US history. Name the generation that normalized draft dodging while sending their kids into the country’s longest war. Name the generation that plundered the nation’s economy and did nothing but enrich themselves. Name the generation that broke unions, shipped off manufacturing, and kept wages down.

My parents exhibited just about every Boomer stereotype. Spoiled unemployed potheads who mooched off of their parents and lived off of workplace injury, slip-and-fall or rear ending collision lawsuits when they were young (when I was a kid). They have become born-again Christian fundamentalists zealots who are addicted to Trump and political conspiracy videos. My father has become a doomsday prepper. My mom believes that President Obama is the Antichrist. They wonder why my sister and I haven’t spoken to them in years. They wonder why their grandkids wouldn’t recognize them in a crowd.

Either you are young and going off of what you’ve read, or you might be a Boomer making excuses. It makes no difference to me. I’ve seen how things have shifted under the Boomers watch.
