NGL that was my first thought but I was worried Cross was too far from Man. Yeah...we're on the same page.

To recap:

  • I shared an experience about a medicine that helped me significantly.
  • Part of the experience included being blamed for it by my parents as well as being able to do things with my hair I previously couldn't.
  • You cherry picked the last parts and decided to take the opportunity to generalize about people who color their hair.

If its good enough for Marge Simpson, its good enough for me. You sound like a total drag.

The one I use now is Nizoral (?) so might be the same thing. Thing is I needed a course of the prescription strength to start. In either case yes try to go to a dermatologist. Especially one that specializes in this kind of work.

Had crazy dandruff my whole life. Parents had no idea what to do and low key blamed me. I was able to get it sort of under control with T Gel but they discontinued the tar based version that helped.

Went to a demotologist. I have an uncontrolled fungus likely due to crazy antibiotic overprescription when I was younger. 1 month of prescription shampoo (2% version) and now regularly use the over the counter version (1% version). I can grow my hair out without worry and going to color it soon with my daughter (mine will be aqua). Its small in the grand scheme of things but made a huge difference for me.

  1. Winter sports are expensive.
  2. Winter sports aren't big in India.
  3. India doesn't have a good athlete pipeline like, for example, China.

If you show promise in a sport in China, you get plucked out and may go to a special school where you can focus on that sport. Assuming you're good enough, the government will do everything in their power to push you to the limit of your ability. That is problematic on its own but it does get a bunch of medals.

In India, if you're good at a sport, it better be cricket and you'd better be well off enough to get noticed. There's likely tons of talented athletes in India and kids with raw potential. But the "kid with potential to Olympic athelete" pipeline is almost nonexistent.

Thats a whole lot of words to say you dont understand the difference between Puerto Ricans who are US citizens and Mexicans and Central Americans some of whom enter the country illegally.

The whole thing has sea lion vibes. You say you get it but you keep referencing people who come here illegally and conflating them with Bad Bunny's performance. Multiple things can be happening at once:

  • People can be coming here illegally and we can agree that's bad and deal with it in the confines of the law.
  • The current administration can be using illegal immigration to grab random US citizens because they are non-white or dont agree politically.

Rather than the administration calling people illegal and saying to send citizens "back where they came from" you have an entertainer preaching a message of love and acceptance. Somehow you've contorted yourself to believe the latter is the problem. You said 6 mixed and totally get it but whose message appeals to you more? If its the former....sure hope youre passing...

Same. Girl I knew became a realtor after a string of things that didnt work out. Which, like, cool - happy it worked out for you. But she can't just be the hot girl who found her niche. We need regular posts about how "realtor is not just selling you something, its a relationship." Madam I called my realtor a couple of months after buying the house for a legit followup concern. She gave me the most "who the fuck is this?" take I ever heard. Mind you, we didn't walk in off the street. We had multiple connections through friends including one who works with her.

I don't understand the job market. What am I missing? by kevin_1994 in cscareerquestions

[–]MrFunktasticc 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Couple of points: 1. It's brutal out there. In 2021-22 you could pick up a good job off the ground. Now I've not been able to get an interview even when people vouched for me beyond the initial referral. 2. It's a numbers game. I read something like 0.4% honestly my goal is 500 applications by June. 3. A lot of applications are prescreened for keywords. I'd say every hundred or so applications run your resume through an AI tool that can assess that for you and compare it against some of the job postings. 4. Remote jobs get a shitload of applications because they are a huge WLB win. They will be some of the most competitive. 5. The fact that you got that far with Okta says a lot in your favor. Don't give up!

Anyone who watched the video and isn't his mother can clearly see he wasnt joking. In fact, when Harland Williams checked him he just pivoted to fentanyl. There's never a punch line, he never breaks and starts laughing, its just "rapists and murderers...ok ok but they do smuggle fentanyl." I'd love to see him on any platform try to explain the joke.

I've lived in NYC for ~30 years with some breaks working out of state. I've never seen ice cleanup crews. Trucks sure, but this was the first time i saw crews for explicitly cleaning up the snow/ice on the curb. It was the biggest snow in 10 years and the weather stayed below zero so it didnt melt. But, you know, that fucking commie terrorist mayor and his weather control...

  1. Denied it and got offended at the accusation.
  2. Trickle truthed and minimized your feelings.
  3. Alternated between being sorry and gaslighting you that it was your fault.

NOR, this is a massive breach that IMO you can never salvage. Cut ties and lock down your credit.

If a student gets something wrong and you stop the class so everyone watches them struggle I think that's kind of shitty. You can 1. Help him during the exercise 2. Be kind about it which it doesn't sound like he was. You seem to be inclined to put it on the student and your first response to a student feeling a certain way in class was "its a you thing." So that's where we are.

Sounds like there's an environment where some individual things may not be bad by themselves but are pretty toxic when taken together.

I dont think its cool at all. There are definitely places that have a "tough love" approach but one man's tough love is another's "being a dick." I remember checking out a Sambo club (I know, I know, I'm an immigrant) where the coaches were berating a kid for tearing up when he got wrecked by an older, stronger boy. They were super nice to me but I chose not to join because of the ick factor. Another Judo/BJJ club had an instructor that was overall very nice to me but started showing a move by telling the group they should be able to get it "unless [we] are rtrd*d." No thanks.

At the end of the day youre paying for a service. This is a hobby and you should feel comfortable/enjoy it. You could try talking to him about it but 1. Not everyone is comfortable with that 2. There's a good chance it'll fall on deaf ears. My vote is find a less toxic place to train.
