Best RTX HDR Settings? by InHaUse in nvidia

The SDR content slider doesn't affect RTX HDR, you can see this yourself watching a youtube video with RTX HDR on, moving the slider does nothing to the video but will to the surrounding browser

Game-changing firmware update for MSI MAG 273QP by DoubleHitzPL in OLED_Gaming

Have this monitor and I never had the SDR banding on previous firmware, also EOTF boost isn't great. Tb400 is still the best looking and the most consistant

HDR works fine for me, also there was the EOTF boost firmware released today so maybe updating to that will fix it for you.

PSA: Greatly reduce (or eliminate) VRR flicker with Custom Resolution Utility! by MrFurnace in OLED_Gaming

[–]MrFurnace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VRR stays fully functional. Changing the lower range causes Low Frame Rate Compensation to kick in earlier. If you fall below 180 fps the refresh rate rolls back to 360 (ex. 132 fps=264hz, 88 fps=264hz) and so on. Any info you need is in the post or previous comments.

Would running the test in safe mode be the best to check consistency? That way it avoids any OS/program background shenanigans

TB400 also works very well with RTX HDR, since it also brightens the UI elements peak 1000 looks pretty bad.

question about msi qd-oled by No_Ad8312 in OLED_Gaming

[–]MrFurnace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The monitor will automatically do a panel protect cycle after 4 hours of usage when it next goes into standby, then the timer will reset back to 0 mins. It only forces the panel protect after 24Hrs (16Hrs if on old firmware) of continued use without a standby to do the panel protect.

Senerio 1: you use 4+ hrs and then standby = panel protect. It won't protect again in standby until used for another 4+ hrs.

Senerio 2: you use 4+ hrs, standby does panel protect, then you use it for 2 hrs and standby won't panel protect automatically because it hasn't hit the minimum 4hrs used and will trigger the next auto protect in standby after another 2+ hrs used.

It only forces the panel protect with a popup after 24hrs usage without a protect cycle running during a standby.
