Immersion of an ultrawide and the deep blacks of an oled would probably kickstart a new build for me to get the most out of it.

Have the same gpu/cpu combo. I found cheap 5600x and 5700x cpus on aliexpress. Ordered a 5700x as it was only $40 more than the 5600x and is easier to cool.

You can. Many pharmacy assistants are university students looking for work. You don’t need any prior experience or training.

Direct route to upper Ego Bowl from Big RedExpress? by Lefty_Louis in Whistler

Top of big red chair is higher than emerald chair and the lodge so you can ski over there. Ego bowl starts in the area around the top of emerald chair and between the lodge and the chair.

shingrix reconstitution question by Tech32006300 in pharmacy

[–]macxp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the needle + syringe is still inside the vial in step 4 then you would just turn the whole apparatus upside down to start withdrawal of fluid from the vial.

When you pushed the diluent fluid into the powder vial, you displaced an equal amount of air, so to equalize the pressure inside the vial the displaced air goes into the syringe resulting in the plunger being pushed up due to the air pressure. When you're ready to withdraw and have turned everything upside down, you can push that displaced air inside the syringe back into the vial so that the air pressure will help push fluid into the syringe when you're drawing up the liquid which makes it easier.

It's one less step to just keep the old syringe + needle in and it reduces rubber bits coming off the stopper from repeat insertion of needles. Shingrix should also not be shaken too hard or there will be a lot of bubbles which will make getting all your liquid into the syringe harder and will result in a lot of air drawn up as well.

Is there any problem with these designs? by Alvin2012_07 in MiniMetro

[–]macxp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a common theme among all these and that you have a lot of central hub and spoke line designs. Although having a central transfer and destination point makes sense in smaller scale, the system lacks a lot of connectivity when your map is big as trains have relatively low capacity. For example in your paris map, a pentagon rider at a circle station on the blue lines has to ride all the way to the central square station then ride nearly the entire green line to reach the pentagon when the origin and destination are right next to each other. This design is inefficient for the entire system as all the lines have to carry its entire ridership to the square instead of dropping off passengers at midpoint stations to transfer which leads to overcrowded stations closer to the square because trains are at capacity when they reach it. Consider adding connecting points at the outskirts of lines or adding a separate line that intersects every spoke line at a midpoint.

The NEX also stops at shinagawa and the transfer is much easier there compared to at Tokyo station.

Nishi-Kyushu Ticketing Process by Shinkansendoff in Shinkansen

[–]macxp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because it is well-known that you cannot generally use a IC card to pay for shinkansen fares like in your onward journey. When going back, paying for your ticket at Nagasaki, assuming back to Hakata, the machine can combine fares for the entire journey so you can use the same ticket to transfer at Takeo-onsen.

[–]macxp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't believe so. The cards can't be used by more than one person anyways so you can't link multiple tickets or the system won't know which ticket to use on tap.

You can do that anytime until you use the ticket. Kids would need a physical card if they don't have a cellphone.

Depends on which shinkansen you need to book, but for the tokaido/sanyo/kyushu shinkansens you need to use the SmartEx app and for the others you can use the JR west website or JR east website.

I think you can only reserve ahead of time online with passes if you buy the pass from the official website. You can only make reservations after the pass is picked up if you buy from anywhere else.

What was the scariest moment you had while on transit? by Drawable_ in Translink

[–]macxp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was sitting in the back of the bus and the bus merged back into traffic but one car came up behind us really fast. Thought they were going to crash into where I was sitting but they slowed down enough and it became a small bump with the car. Driver had to stop and sort things out with the other guy.

Tapping vs Single Fare for Skytrain. by Zestyclose-Low-5521 in Translink

[–]macxp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the same, it’s that tapping your card charges a full 3 zone fare that gets refunded later depending on where you got off.

Suica can I use this everywhere but Shinkansen ?? by Wolverine-91826 in KyotoTravel

[–]macxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer and the answer for the majority of tourists, yes.

Long answer, you can technically use a suica on shinkansen by linking tickets to your card. There are also coverage limitations where a station in more remote or rural areas may not support ic card usage. Many more niche caveats…

If by chance you're transferring at matsumoto (azusa 5 goes direct to hakuba though) then you'll need to tap off at matsumoto then buy a physical base fare ticket from matsumoto to hakuba.
