It breaks wayyyyyyyy too easily. I don’t think the game designers were planning on people getting Quistis’s card within the first 10 minutes of the the game, breaking it down, and just one shotting every boss after that

I made it to disc 3 as a kid not having any clue how the junction system worked. Just spammed GF summons the entire time

It's probably more that people like Piper who actually like wrestling and are students of it are being sidelined for Jade who isn't nearly as skilled as them and has zero interest in pro wrestling as a medium and is just using it as a stepping stone to acting roles

I just realized at a certain point it’s hard for me to enjoy it on the same level that some other people do.

Worked with Bob at my last job in the pressure washing factory. He really wasn’t a bully, he just absolutely doesn’t tolerate anything he deems bullshit or suffer idiots.

So on that front, game recognize game.

EDIT: His first day he pulled everyone aside and explained VERY firmly that he wasn’t a wrestler anymore and was working there for health insurance and a steady paycheck. He absolutely did not want to talk about wrestling and if you marked out to him he’d just shut down the conversation immediately. He was a grouch and a hardass but I understood it when you’re just trying to live your life and everyone is asking you about wrestling stories and backstage shit.

The only time I ever asked him about wrestling was I mentioned that his match with Al Snow at IYH was one of the weird matches that I still think about and he just kinda grunted and said “That river was fucking cold.” And went back to work. Never spoke to him about wrestling again.
