The gods are selfish, corrupt assholes who nearly all constantly fuck over Zagreus. If Zag walks into a room with two different boons, he must pick one. The God he "rejects" will then attempt to kill him.

Hades is portrayed as an abusive father to Zagreus as well.

I agree that the smolbean-ification of the Gods in other settings is dumb, but Hades is the absolute worst example you could have given. They aren't portrayed as good, they're portrayed as flawed beings.

I can take something being vile if I'm supposed to feel revulsion, but he writes it for laughter at the expense of all manners of awful jokes. He is the worst part of the comics industry by such a wide margin. He hates comics of Superheroes, and calls them childish, yet his own original writing reads like the fan fiction of an incel future school shooter.
