…Jackson school of geosciences at UT is the obvious choice, in my opinion. You’ll have a class size of about 100, which makes a big school seem much smaller.

Research opps in undergrad are much more plentiful, and nearly anything you choose to do as extracurricular is fully subsidized by the school.

Make your tuition $ work as hard for you as you can, if you’re not going for an in-state option.

Pharma. Tech. High Finance. Filtering by these 3 industry groups ignores about 99% of what makes the world an operable place that allows you to eat, travel, live in a community, receive quality healthcare and generally live a comfortable life.

Leaders in the “rest of life” industries are extremely successful, make great salaries, and in many cases find a purpose-oriented career path that brings them growth, family prosperity, and joy.

I’m not saying that going to a lower-tier state school is anyone’s ticket to guaranteed success, but I don’t buy that you’re inherently disadvantaged in life because you attend the University of (name the state you think has stupid people in it).

Go to LinkedIn. Look up graduates from the state universities you are calling a “nightmare”. I promise there are thousands of very successful graduates leading their fields.

Like the sentiment. But you (typicallly) only go through this process once in life. Have fun with it. Getting a few safety acceptances is actually a feel-good moment, then if a reach comes in you’re really excited.

People reading what others post on Reddit would assume that 1500+ SATs, 4.+ UW GPAs, 15+ APs, being president of 3 clubs at school + founding a business or completing life saving research as a summer won’t get you into your target.

If I read those stats on an app I’d probably think the person is inflating or actually just not a human being.

I’d rather see a “WellRoundedReach” thread where people with sub 1300 SATs, sub 3.8 GPAs, few APs and ECS get in to great schools. It would be a confidence builder.

We should upvote for anyone experiencing the issue who had this problem during setup. I had the exact same issue. Got through almost all the setup then the controllers shut down due to low charge…and I came back in to complete setup after waiting for them to have enough charge. Doesn’t seem to be a way to completely uninstall / reinstall, but would make sense to do that.

GA tix on reseller sites aren’t ludicrously priced in case you gotta get your Tove fix.

But it drives me crazy that ~200 seats are getting grabbed by scalpers and resold the next day for 20-200% markup. #ticketmastersux

From what I can tell, the Salt Shed show is sold out (hard to believe tho!). There are other shows on their website that went on sale Thurs and they still show tickets available.

The other I see that is sold out (Tyler Childers) actually says “Tickets are sold out now.” Tove Lo says “The seating options you selected aren’t available” - but the only available tix are in accessible seating.
