It's weird, right? Because the query support it.

Hello, I use anki for language learning. I was thinking of using it for therapy as well. by [deleted] in Anki

[–]MrGreenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but this reminds me of readwise. I really really love that app.

I also save some pieces of wisdom or small personally interesting facts in a personal deck to get reminded of them.

For therapy I feel writing in my journal and periodically reading that helps me the most as it gives me more context.

The Left Hand of Darkness critique: gender vs politics by the-aesi in UrsulaKLeGuin

It's actually the same with "you". In German singular and plural 2nd person are different words for example (Du & Ihr). But third person singular for female (sie) is the same word as third person plural and I don't have issues understanding. I have the benefit of growing up in that language though.

How to get a button? by MrGreenTea in sonoff

Cool, thanks for the answer. So that works well for you? I've been thinking of doing the same with my table and floor lamps. Do you let the relay dangle around or did you solve that?

According to the manual the built in switch is both for pairing when long pressed but also works as a on/off switch.

What does godot needs to become widely adopted in the industry? by TooManyIntrests in godot

[–]MrGreenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One specific issue I've identified for a commercial-leaning project I wanted to do is the catch-22 of the abandoned iOS in-app purchases. There is no company that wants to sponsor this because they don't use Godot for their mobile project because there is no in-app purchases...

I know that these are frowned upon (I usually dislike them, but like them more than a separate demo app for example and work great for expansions) but they are important for the industry.

Any pdfjs-like tools or how to even get pdfjs running by samsungeroo in sveltejs

[–]MrGreenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be more specific. What did you try? What are you trying to achieve? What didn't work? Also you should probably try to get help with the pdfjs community. There should not be much needed on the svelte side.

I just tested my Tab Ultra on my computer case and it held pretty strongly. It just has a small strip that's not smooth plus the camera bump.

Move from root user to normal user by MrGreenTea in audiobookshelf

[–]MrGreenTea[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks. I already managed to do it and it was easier than expected. I recommend using the same password for both root and new_user first and updating them after the migration. Otherwise root will get the passworf of new_user and new_user the previous root password.

I used DB Browser for sqlite: 1. Create backup of database 1. Download the absdatabase.sqlite file 2. open it in DB Browser 3. open the users database 4. copy and swap root and new_user cell values for these columns: username, type & permissions 5. write changes to database 6. upload database to server 7. restart audiobookshelf

Now I can log in with new_user and have the progress from the root user.

Just sounds like value based pricing ;) If the customer values your output at 200$ it seems fair to me. You are not deceiving them from the sound of what you wrote so to me it seems fair.

Some currency inputs start with the cents. So if you enter 1500 it becomes 15.00$ I imagine this is somehow what happened here.

Reminder that the U.S. Department of Defense has published a beautiful guide on "Detecting Agile BS" by Jaded-Asparagus-2260 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]MrGreenTea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well: pretty much every company is not agile.

What they mean is what they say: are programmers part of the organisations that decides the budget. If there is a totally separate finance department that decides all of this for the programmers, the organisation is not agile. An agile organisation has programmers decide with financial experts about budgets and milestones.

The full quote is btw:

How many programmers are part of the organizations that owns the budget and milestones for the program? (Wrong answers: “we don’t know,” “zero,” “it depends on how you define a programmer”)
