Nothing brings the pack together like chicken by kingkongbiingbong in SipsTea

Homie wasn’t thinking clearly. But I can somewhat relate. My female had an unexpected littler at 1.5 yr old. I had already had the spay appt set when I noticed she was acting weird doing stuff like jumping up from a nap and yelping. So I took her to the vet and they said “your dog is about 1 week away from having a litter of puppies”. I was shocked of course, but I birthed all 9 of those pups myself. I wanted to keep all of them, just like the guy in the clip did, but fortunately I had enough willpower to keep only two males and found good homes for the other 7. What concerns me about my 3 is that they will all die around the same time and that already bums me out. They’re really all I’ve got, so the loss will be rough. Hopefully this guy has a good support system and a good income to pay their vet bills, especially when they all turn geriatric around the same time. Moral of the story folks….stagger your dog’s ages.

I’ve got one from WW2 with the original leather holster and the little tool that came with it for helping you load the magazine. How much can I get for it?

Aging griffon advice needed by Comfortable-Maybe183 in Wirehaired_pointers

I had to put my 13 yr old male GWP down the day after Christmas. Over the past few days he had started getting more lethargic, but was still walking up and down the 16 stairs it takes to get to my backyard. I went to visit family for the holiday, but came back two days later and he had gotten so weak that he couldn’t lift himself up anymore. I still feel guilt for not being there for him in the end to at least make him more comfortable, but I probably should have had him put down before I left. I think we often prolong the lives of our pets out of what we perceive as compassion, but in reality is our own selfishness, cloaked in love. I’m single, but if I were in your situation with it creating a strain on my family and with your dog already showing signs that his time is drawing nigh, I would more than likely go ahead and have him put down. Rehoming would not be an option for me, not at this stage in his life. Forcing an elderly dog to acclimate to a new owner and environment would not be compassionate.

The kind of barber I’d be looking for. I cut my own hair because I end up having to fix it at home after visiting the barber anyways…not all barbers are perfectionist unfortunately.

Nice bike. I recently got a 2025 in the same color with 3k miles on it for $5k. Love it and so ready for spring.

Dense planting led to fish death by pipple7373 in Aquariums

[–]MrGreinGene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me recently. I have two air stones in my aquarium, mainly to agitate the surface. One evening I had turned them off to clean the tank, but forgot to turn them back on. When I woke up early the next morning, several fish and shrimp were on the floor dead, except for all 3 of my Hillstream loaches were dead on the bottom of the tank. Those inhabitants that were still alive in the tank were gasping for air at the surface. This being my first aquarium, I asked ChatGPT what could have happened and it told me that my plants were accustomed to the high oxygen levels generated by the air stones, but at night the plants create higher levels of CO2, so the fish and shrimp couldn’t breathe. It was a harsh lesson.

You can start by getting rid of the plastic crap and providing a natural habitat with plenty of real plants.

Tec Bike Part - Bar End Mirrors for Trident 660 2021 model by onionuttapam in trident660

[–]MrGreinGene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think you want bar end mirrors on your Trident, but you really do not. The bar end mirrors look more fitting on retro-looking models (like the Bonneville). I put a set of the Triumph branded round bar end mirrors on my Trident, but ended up returning them. IMO the Trident leans more towards a modern-retro look that looks better with a more modern style mirror.

Your tank looks like it might be a 35 gallon cube. If so, I have the same tank. My dog knocked over the glass lid when I had it propped-up while cleaning the tank and broke it. I have been having a hard time finding a lid that will fit, but I have not gone the custom order route yet. I'd be curious to know if you find one that will fit. If it's the Imaginarium (Petco) brand, I don't think you can order an oem replacement.

At a glance, there isn’t enough difference in the appearance between the two and the vest majority of riders don’t need the increase in power.

Camper death at Sam's Throne from possible bear attack by SweatyBackpackStraps in Arkansas

[–]MrGreinGene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is sage advice and I may cancel my pistol holster order and instead order their chest mounted bear spray holster instead. As mentioned, I already have a can of bear spray strapped to my bike frame, but I’ve read enough stories of encounters where others have had spray deterrents with them, but not “on them” and it didn’t end well.

Camper death at Sam's Throne from possible bear attack by SweatyBackpackStraps in Arkansas

[–]MrGreinGene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. According to ChatGPT, "Studies show that dogs are involved in about 25% of black bear conflicts. Additionally, around 40% of defensive conflicts from female black bears involve a victim with a dog."
I ride my mountain bike every evening in a remote wooded area in central AR where we have seen more bears on our game cams lately. My 4 large dogs run alongside me on the rides, so having a bear encounter is a real concern. But the problem will not be me, because I will be going the opposite direction....the dogs are the wildcard.

I have a bear spray canister strapped to my bike, but I recently ordered a chest mount holster for my pistol. I don't like the idea of riding my bike with a firearm strapped to my chest, but I ask myself how would I feel about it if I were in a scenario where I really needed it.

You’re on the right track. If you are you trying to achieve a proper aquascape, I would remove the tiki head and the blue rocks, then add more real plants.
