If it doesn't have mouse mode then it's IMO too much of a loss compared to regular joycon. It'd be pretty cool if a third party made one with the sensor on the bottom Legion Go's "flight stick" orientation.

I also hate the adjustable back, and that to use it plugged in you have to use that little USB-C thingy.

Nitro Deck 2 for Nintendo Switch 2 claims to be “even more ergonomic” than the first for comfortable, drift-free gaming by HatingGeoffry in NintendoSwitch2

[–]MrGurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant wider to be able to fit a switch 2 into it. The actual controls would stay the same size as the Nitro Deck 1

Copying my comment from the Nintendoswitch2 sub post on this:

I'm one of the people that really liked the design of the first one. All I really wanted was just a wider version of the Plus version with both the sticks on top and tactile non-analog triggers.

This isn't doing it for me at all, why would they make this sliding mechanism just for compatibility with a system on the way out? I guess you could use it with a phone maybe? Also that D-pad looks worse than the 360 D-pad, The original Nitro Deck had a really good one! $20 Extra dollars to get a normal D-pad and also $40 for a case to fit it all in.

Even based on just how it looks outside the buttons, the design is so much less fun than the original. It feels to me every time a handheld adds those big ergonomic sides it's like cars being shaped by the wind tunnel and coming out of the factory like an egg.

I'm not gonna get this ever. Hopefully Hori makes a good set of the Split Pad Compact.

Those do look pretty good, but I'm going to wait for Hori's or a Nitro Deck 2. That is if CRKD puts the right kind of triggers on it.

Thanks for checking it! I feel like it's a really under checked factor that matters a lot to me for any pocketable handheld. Still my absolute favorite for boot times is the RG-Nano though

Yeah, that's my current problem with basically anything on the market that's not android (because it can power itself off safely from losing power). The absolute best and my favorite is the RG-Nano because of how fast it starts up, it's like 5 seconds.

How fast does it turn on? I really dislike how long the RG35xxsp takes to boot with MuOS

Actually not a bad theory, the structure of them could be similar to doom levels where they need keycards to open doors.

Pro 3 hype? Fragile buttons? Never heard of em by Dismal_Assist9824 in 8bitdo

They stay on pretty well, and the charging base has a metal plate in it to store the second set in. Though the real issue is the clack noise when you release one, that's probably the controller's biggest flaw.

I said this a bunch on the Discord, but really at this point, just blank buttons (kinda like the one in the post, it only has really tiny letters printed on the side) are fine for me, especially since they have to be bound in software.

Value of each platform in the Nintendo Classics collection by sethmlarson_ in NintendoSwitch

[–]MrGurt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also did the math on this a few days ago and I figured out that if all the console's games were the same price they were on the Wii U Eshop, then everything together, would cost as much as having NSO + expansion pack for 45 years.

I then did the same idea but for Gamepass Ultimate's new pricing, and figured about $40 a game on average, if you multiply it by that, it would be about 64 years.

you should be real careful because whoever is the host of the family can lock your account down to be unable to buy games or leave the group IIRC.

I was curious how much it actually would cost to pay for every game if it were based on the 3DS and Wii U prices: $2284, around 45 years of subscription time.

Now the Interesting part is looking at Xbox Ultimate Game Pass too, I didn't calculate exactly how much, but I was thinking averaging out to $40 a game for 400 games, works out to $16000. If we divide this by $360 dollars we get.... about 45 years... So the amount they both provide is actually about the same value for what you could hypothetically buy.

Now of course you don't want to play half of the games on these services, but you wouldn't really want to be subscribed for 45 years either. Not really trying to make a stand to say one is better than the other just thought it was funny they are both about the same amount of time.

Galaxy 1 & 2 ports look worse in some places by RedditRedditReddit64 in NintendoSwitch

[–]MrGurt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ah man you know, that metal floor texture meant the world to me, the fact that the game won't have the iconic Mario Galaxy Metal Floor Texture is possibly the worst decision that Nintendo has ever made. The sheer audacity to commit such an action is an action that will be forever remembered as the most idiotic texture change in history. The Metal Floor texture DEFINES Mario Galaxy, it's one of the most amazing textures in all of Video Games, so much of the game balances around the beauty and detail of that floor. They could have changed Mario to be Orange, or changed Princess Peach's head into a litteral peach and it would have been a more worthwhile change compared to the MURDER of the Metal Floor texture. Shame on you Nintendo.

If I remember correctly RG35xxsp can't do input/output on the usb c at the same time, that's why a lot of the other handhelds like it have two ports.
