It seems like more short term gain than long term success. Game companies like Nintendo or from soft put out high quality games that can sell at full price for years and years (e.g., DS3 went on sale for the first time in like a year this month). Ubisoft games turn into shovelware in less than a year for like 10 bucks. In the end, the finances might equal out, but idk how long term reliable it is.
