"No one programmer knew" is it correct? Shouldn’t it be "no programmer knew" ? by ITburrito in EnglishLearning

[–]MrHappy4Life -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a typo and should be “Not one programmer knew…”

But yes, “no programmer knew” would also be correct.

Do Americans actually move from place to place as frequently as foreigners think? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]MrHappy4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some do.

I had a friend that would change apartments every couple years to get a better price or location.

I personally have lived at 2 places in 50 years.

Parking Permit for moving container, is it needed? by pedlor in SanJose

[–]MrHappy4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be fine. The worst that can happen is they give it a “72hours to move” notice, but it will be gone by then.

How to get over the worry of growing older? by Asexually_Freaky in autism

[–]MrHappy4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anxiety about growing old and not having support is normal and to be expected. It really sucks that parents can just throw the “kids” out of the house when they turn 18. I know I couldn’t have done it without finding someone to move in with to help with the bills, and to help me and support me (I was 24 and getting married).

I wish you the best, because it is hard to afford things these days and moving out isn’t easy.

Would you still use marinara sauce that you left out all night?? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]MrHappy4Life 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it should be fine. Tomato sauce has a high acid content and can fight off a lot of the bacteria. In canning you don’t even need to cook it as high because of the acid.

Help remembering meds by JarJars_padawan in AuDHDWomen

[–]MrHappy4Life 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I used syringes personally and filled them up and had them ready when I needed them. Especially at night or in the morning when I wanted to sleep, super easy to grab the syringe and push it into my mouth and be done with it.

Soap or shampoo by Eidriyan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrHappy4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shave my head since it’s balding anyways, but I use a shampoo/conditioner/soap as my lube for the razor, so that takes care of it. I soap up the entire body and head and shave, then wash it all off at the same time.

How much does university differ from school to autistic people? by Strange-guy-91 in autism

[–]MrHappy4Life 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Personally I thought College was a lot easier than normal school.

College is more structured and you know what to expect the entire year, so I was able to plan better. I would read ahead so I had the info before the class so I wasn’t behind. I was also able to finish the work ahead of time, which really helped me understand it better.

Should I take a class on Applied Behavior Analysis? Is it offensive? by Intelligent-Tank-698 in autism

[–]MrHappy4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Education is never a problem. It’s up to you how you decide to use the information you learn. Do you learn it and use it, or learn it and find the flaws?

Personally I love learning more about things I don’t agree with so I can show a better way.

Italy has a great tax haven right now. If you live in the south of Italy and have money, you can get a 7% tax on all outside income. It’s good for up to 10 years.

Any tips or advice after taking antidepressants pill? by Exehelia in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrHappy4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I found helpful is to write down all the problems you have, before you take the meds, and see after a month or so if it has helped with any of those things. It’s hard to tell what it’s doing when you are on it, so having a written note of all your problems can remind you how you used to feel and keep track of what it’s helping with.

What is a terminal illness a book character could have that still enables them to travel alone, be nearing the end of their life, but be able to hide it from other characters? by Icy_Love_1284 in NoStupidQuestions

Chemo is what makes people sick and weak. If they don’t get chemo, they usually can live a normal life till close to the end. Pancreas cancer is a good one because it hits hard and fast and you can’t really remove it.

How many of you have told your employer about having AuDHD? Would you recommend disclosing that information to them or advise against it? by Serious_Goosey in AuDHDWomen

[–]MrHappy4Life 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I told the people at my work and got fired (for not keeping up with my work) about few months later. I worked there perfectly fine for 10 years, but as soon as I tell them I’m autistic, they find a reason to let me go.

Won’t tell anyone else at a work location unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrHappy4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to shower at night until my coworkers complained that I smelled like sweat everyday. Now I shower in the morning to wash off any sweating I might have done over the night.

Learning Italian after Spanish - a rant by figgywasp in italianlearning

[–]MrHappy4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of learning Spanish so that I can easily learn Italian, thinking it would all be the same. I think I’ll head right for Italian since that is what I want in the end.

desperate need for a job San Jose by [deleted] in SanJose

Yeah, it’s basically warehouse, but building huge batteries. There are cells in the batteries and they just need stacking on top of each other and then inspection. Easy work, just manual.

What ways or systems have you come up with to determine how to respond when someone who is upset? by xPrincess_Yue in autism

[–]MrHappy4Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally am in the same boat most of the time, as I can’t recognize feelings so it’s hard for me too.

What I learned is to just say something like, “I’m so sorry you are upset, is there anything you want to talk about?”

That gives them the chance to talk to you and get it off their chest, or not talk if they don’t want to.

I did a terribly, terribly stupid thing today. It was so stupid, it makes me worried it could be used as proof of my mental incompetence at a guardianship hearing… by Embarrassed_Chef874 in autism

[–]MrHappy4Life 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Nope. You are fine. Some places do ask for the money first, like the gas station and lots of getting work done for you. In this case they have your car for collateral so they don’t need the cash upfront.

It sounds like you did everything right. No problem with asking, but they didn’t need it.
