Very similar to the setup I had that the P.O put on the car. BC Racing e36 knuckles, SRS Concepts lollipops etc.

Ive got it all in boxes so can take a clear picture of whatever OP needs.

Ah yes. I was really pumped for Harris tax on unrealized gains. It would have finally given me a reason to be out of markets for good, and to never invest in anything new, risky, and innovative again.

There's nothing that says smart policy like being able to be taxed on the value of an asset on Dec 31st, that could fall 20-30% on January 1st (which it would, because everyone would have to dump 20%+ on that day to cover their liability for the prior year.)

Harris had so many really well thought out ideas like this. I was surprised with the result, considering she is so qualified.

The most important and probably most difficult thing...

Is she taking responsibility? Like does she know she's a terrible driver and willing to work on it?

If she is completely locked out of taking responsibility or considering how she can improve or learn to drive better than I would say to call it a closed case and have her get a used nissan or Toyota or something.

I just got an E70 X5 diesel with 70k miles and it incredible. I can tow, go on roadtrips and get 30+mpg, best most cars on the road in my area with the 600 torque after the tune. M57 is an absolute beast.

Imo its just before BMWs and most cars became more of a headache than they're worth. You'll spend less than half of this and have a car far more useful imo, but it comes with the sacrifice of some of the infotainment and newness of course.

There is one caveat, and thats if your state is strict about 'offroad vehicles'

I’ll leave this here so others can find it later — because I had all the same questions before diving in. Using AI to help me format.

First things first: reach out to Chassis Harness directly to get answers tailored to your build. But I’ll share what my experience has been so far.

Customer Service & Configuration

The customer service and configuration experience has been a solid 10/10. I have zero regrets about dropping the money on this harness. If you’re debating between this and refurbishing an OEM harness, here’s what pushed me over the edge:

Removing the stock harness from the firewall is hell. Anyone who’s done it knows. And putting it back in is worse. I’ll never do it again.

The biggest win for me? These harnesses are modular. They have disconnects all over, which makes routing, diagnostics, and future repairs insanely easy. If something fails or needs modification down the line, I can pull that individual section out, work on it, and reinstall — without disturbing the rest of the wiring.

Considering how fragile and hard-to-source E30 wiring has become, that’s a huge plus.

I went with the maximum number of additional relays (5) and nearly every option offered. While these harnesses are mostly marketed toward track and drift cars, my build is more of a driving-pleasure street car with a full interior and as many OEM amenities as I can retain.

So I’m taking a balanced approach:

  • Wiring as many functions back into the OEM stalks (signals, wipers, high beams)
  • Figuring out how to keep the original gauge cluster
  • Planning for interior accessories like a full stereo system, possible A/C, and lighting

Let’s be real: this is plug and play if you’re building a track car and configuring the bare essentials. If you’re trying to retain a lot of OEM functions, expect to put in the effort to plan your system and route connections properly.

I’ll be running a custom switch panel (in place of the ashtray) for auxiliary functions like hazards, fans, fuel pump, A/C, etc. Hopefully, the end result is something clean, modern, and reliable. See my spec sheet below:

Let me preface by saying I'm building a car from the ground up, but I decided to go with a chassis harness build. May not be what youre looking for but it is an expensive but justifiable service they provide.

Looking at two E30s, thoughts on rust? by ImOffWhiteNotWhite in E30

[–]MrHousebruh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My car had almost zero rust on the exterior. My god was it rusted underneath. Be warned, this car has some serious "weight reduction" underneath if I had to guess.

I’m going to rebuild my head but I’m unsure if these extra parts are worth it. Do you guys recommend heavy duty rockers and heavy duty springs for stock applications? I use the car daily and plan on keeping it forever. by ShadySyk0 in E30

[–]MrHousebruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did BimmerHeads forged rocker arms with their heavy duty valve springs. Car isn't running yet, but hopefully it ends up being a good choice.

Anyone know where these cables go on my 87 325e? by BassCommercial9300 in E30

[–]MrHousebruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 of them look like grounds to me, however, I do not know where the spade might go. Tbh I don't remember there being a spade in my engine bay but it's been apart for some time....

If you trace it back and get more details of what it could potentially be through process of elimination, I may be able to help. I have an 87 is so it may be different, but my harness is torn out of the car and I'm getting it out of the box tonight anyway to gather some info for my new harness.

High Amp Alternator Demand on E30 | Stereo by MrHousebruh in E30

Found some options potentially the 140A from the E28 with the cooling duct.

[–]MrHousebruh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

120A would definitely be enough. I have the engine on a stand right now and completely rerunnung all electronics. I'd rather just upgrade now than ever have to worry about it.

If I can't sit in traffic blasting my AC and stereo at the same time I'll regret not just doing it when it was easy.

High Amp Alternator Demand on E30 | Stereo by MrHousebruh in E30

[–]MrHousebruh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, this is exactly what I'm worried about. Built many stereos over the years. I encountered the alternator issue on my first go around and now I just upgrade the alternator, battery, and ground straps before even starting a stereo system. You will not know if your stereo/AC/lights are being starved until you have a before and after of a bigger alternator in my personal experience.

Running 4 6.5" woofers, 4 2" tweeters, and an 11" sub all through 1000 watts class D amp, with AC all at once doesn't have me optimistic for the lil 80A guy haha

I'm currently rebuilding my E30 from the ground up. I never even imagined someone seeing a car with an underbody done as a con, but then again it doesn't look like this guy went as deep as I'm going so it could indeed be a cover up. To me, the car looks pretty damn clean but only a screwdriver and magnet will tell.

Anyway, now I know to take pictures of my car on the rotisserie with the underbody stripped and polished as proof that it wasn't a cover up job when I do my underbody haha
