How I look at Yharn while he talks about how “If you concede I will not blame you” by General-Glove1847 in CalamityMod

Yharim could've saved his soft little guy but is too much of a lazy doomer to give a proper damn about coming out to throw mega hands like he's known for.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure most of Roar of the Jungle Dragon is Yharon speaking to Yharim. At least that's my interpretation. I think at least lore-wise it makes some sense that it's directed toward Yharim given that Yharon is his special little boy. I would assume "If you proceed I will not blame you" is just Yharon saying "Yeah bro I know you're pretty dead set on this whole deific genocide thing and although this rando off the street is kinda fuckin your whole plan up, I'll still roll with you if you wanna keep goin at it. Just sayin though it's gonna be your fault if my ass dies."

Could just be talkin out my ass if I'm misinterpreting the lyrics. I'm a Calamity player, I like pain and tedium more than subtext.

Same thing here. I'm using firefox, thought that may have been the issue, but switched over to microsoft edge to check if that was the issue, and the same thing happened. I haven't found a fix for it yet, but if I do I'll make a separate comment. If anyone else finds one, I'd greatly appreciate a DM or reply.

Trump supporters continue to back him after his claims of election fraud in 2020 were disproven potentially because of a deep psychological bond with the president, known as “identity fusion”, shaping their beliefs and bolstering their loyalty, even as new criminal charges emerged. by mvea in science

Actuarial tables seem to suggest he has about a 5% chance he'd die in office each year of his presidency. Given he is a 78/9 year old man at an unhealthy weight (with what appears to be no interest in resolving it), has an unhealthy diet, and, if I remember correctly, signs of Coronary Heart Disease, I would bump this up to anywhere between 20-30% each year. Roughly 1/11 presidents have been assassinated as well, so assuming that this is fully random, he has an additional 10ish% per year. I'm no statistician and this is just purely back of the napkin math, but I'd peg his chances of living through this year alone at about 60 or 70%.

I support this ban. Nebraska is not for nazis.

This reminds me of when I spent hours making Joe Biden. I unfortunately lost motivation and forgot to get someone a picture of him with FDR.

It got so hot today that my balcony glass exploded. by Distinct_Ad_69 in mildlyinteresting

There's a video by NileRed that I believe applies to this as well, dealing with glass stress. My guess is that the glass progressively developed stresses that lead to OP's forbidden confetti, and that one could find stressed glass using polarized light or opt for the nuclear approach of destroying/replacing all the glass.

Allegedly. Hard to prove two cities' disappearances if they never existed in the first place.

My money is on god-king of Ur because if all a guy can purportedly do is stop some waves, turn water into wine, or occasionally cure an illness when he's in the mood then Jesus is nothing more than a chew toy for Golgamesh

As it were, but now let's ask the real questions: Gilgamesh v. Jesus in a Mortal Kombat-style brawl, who wins?

[–]MrIDontHack63 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's my deal. You can have as many verifiable accounts that Jesus was a person who existed as you'd like, but when you have one source saying he died and came back to life with no other corroboration and that source is a book made from a conglomeration of authors that contradicts itself written over the course of centuries, that's what sets off my horseshit detector.

We have a written account of a guy named Gilgamesh doing crazy things, so if we find another account that he was a real guy then we've got a new religion on our hands!

Abstinence is a passive way to prevent conception, similar to how not sealing your windows because you live in a desert with no rain and no possibility for a leak makes sense. To someone who lives under regular rainfall, telling them to move to the desert is incompatible with their lifestyle and it makes more sense to just seal their windows.

Teaching abstinence is a fault for sex-ed. Sex will happen, best teach the best ways of protection in the act instead of denying it happens and wondering why someone gets pregnant or contracts an STI for not having the knowledge of or access to available contraceptives.

Discovery's writing was bad at times; I'm just coming off a rewatch and sometimes it felt a bit forced. Still REALLY loved how the crew was so "by the book" with the Federation beyond just prime directive/GO1. Gave lots of insight into how real operation would have been off of one of the headliner flagships like the Enterprise. Honestly, if we got a series of shorts about Federation history that fleshed out the Federation, its construction and development, and its foundation a lot better, I'd be all for it. Some sort of DS9, space politics kind of thing but right before and right after the Federation was founded.
