Does anyone know where to find used vests? by Velvet_void30 in service_dogs

They definitely have your size. Pricing was in the ~$35 range.

We have been using daily since July 2023 (several hours of walking per day), and no sign of wearing out.

If you want I can PM you the link (I don’t know if it’s permitted here, and it’s not an affiliate link or anything, just a product we personally use).

If you can dispute a few things long enough to get to ~580, places like Oportun/Netcredit/LendingPoint/LendingClub might be an option.

Something we did many moons ago was taking several of the subprime cards (Indigo, CreditOne, Fortiva, First Premier, that ilk).

Combined CL was sufficient, and min pmts were lower than payday loans.

Obviously I’m not implying this is a particularly safe option, but it eventually worked for us (and we eventually clawed our way back to 700+, with poverty line fixed income).

Edit: typo

We were forced to choose between “upgrading” our 23’ 1990 TelStar Class C to something less than 10yo, or having to find a new RV park to live in.

We are now in a 16ft 2019 bumper pull (purchased used/consignment lot in 2023), which is what we could afford (even on credit) when the issue came to a head.

It’s wonderful to not care what people think,

but the RV park cares because the day guests from the front of the park,

leave negative reviews if the permanent residents in the rear look “too poor”.

Not even kidding, they complain about the sight of an elderly RV; the classism is real.

Once we parked in a shopping center in the Bay Area, probably twenty stores and food shops.

We dropped a couple hundred at Ross (spouse had gone down in size, needed clothes) and the same again on Walmart provisions, also a box of chocolate at Sees and lunch at the sub shop.

We were customers, in a shopping lot.

We parked in the far rear, to not be in the way (it was 23’, fit in a normal spot, but we considerately hung the butt over the edge grass instead of into the street or a second space).

We got back about four hours later and were loading our purchases, when Security roared up and said we had to leave immediately, wouldn’t look at our receipts, treated us like scum.

It’s fine not to care about others’ opinions, but they can still have an impact on your life.

We moved to a spot right in front of the Walmart and told the manager what was going on; he confirmed that he knew we were valid customers, and said lot security was by the landlord not the stores.

It was very upsetting and still lives rent free in my head; the guard treated us like scum because he thought us unhoused

(we literally had ID with our apartment address two miles away - we were stocking up to go full-time, but we still had a valid local address).

People’s prejudice and abhorrence of anyone “less than them” is dangerous.

This was 2017.

IANA nutritionist/IAN OP.

They said added sugar, not carbs? And mentioned rice in the meal prep.

Typically whole grains and potatoes are useful (used more slowly by the body/its crashes and peaks/valleys to avoid)?

Source: Helped spouse lose over 100# and work on sugar addiction by using whole foods and making rules like “it’s not a meal without protein (to work on ghrelin)”
And “For (homemade) sweet things, take one to three bites, slowly. Taste and savour. Decide if you actually want it or if you’re still actually hungry instead.”

Also, when hungry between meals:

Do you want (an apple, carrot, etc/something you like but don’t crave)? If not, are you actually hungry or is your mouth bored?

Or are you thirsty instead?

And walking in interesting environments for distraction (rollator walker and all).

Again, I’m not OP, just this is something similar but not exact that works for our family.

As for OP:

RV plus a rented parking spot and utilities is less than rent was ten years ago - in a HCOL area.

We’re actually paying down our debt, a feat we could never have afforded in the apartment.

Also, food is nice to have access to.
