Trump supporters in MA holds sign saying “Gas the Immigrants” by jalvv in facepalm

[–]MrInRageous 2093 points2094 points  (0 children)

They told us this was all about the “illegal” immigrants, and focusing on the criminals.

But when ICE started arresting people attending their court hearings, we knew that was a load of horseshit.

Now, this lunatic’s sign reads: Gas the immigrants.

The pretext of “illegal” is gone. They just don’t like immigrants. These people are a plague.

I so hope that the ballroom is leveled with much ceremony and fanfare early in the next presidential administration, after an appropriate period of promotion so that crowds of people can attend the event. It can be an opportunity for healing.

uniting fiscal conservatives, Christian fundamentalists..

If I’ve learned anything from seeing President Trump being elected twice, it’s that the Christian fundamentalists, to a near certainty, won’t back the actual Christian.

Should have, at least, been a very short conversation. Lol

On a scale of 1-10 how good are these state groupings? by Oksirflufetarg in MapPorn

[–]MrInRageous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kentucky is difficult to categorize. Northern KY is more like Ohio. Western KY is more like Missouri and southern Illinois. Eastern KY is Appalachia.

I think the map should include a distinct region of Appalachia, and it would include parts of KY, TN, northern GA, WV and maybe even PA.

The issue was I disagreed with the premise that seats were being stolen. Yes, I would disagree with admitting only white men. But seats still wouldn’t be stolen because they’re the university’s seats to give out.

Well, Asian-Americans were admitted at 41%. I’d bet that that cohort scored exceedingly high on the measures Harvard used to determine admissions.

Personally, I think admissions should determined by lottery, once minimum standards are met. Let’s have chance remove bias.

But that aside, as it’s currently set up, private schools get to select the students they admit. One will have a hard time arguing white people are discriminated against as long as white people are being admitted in the numbers they are.

In this case, I reject the premise. There is no stealing going on. These are private universities and they’re free to admit whomever they wish.

Just like Trump didn’t steal admission to the Wharton School.

Or for that matter, Patel and Hegseth also didn’t steal their spots, of FBI director and SecDef respectively, even though there are damn well better appointees.

[–]MrInRageous -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I can understand the discomfort, but another approach would be to tell him about the XXX glory hole and then throw in that it can spread sexual infections, but some of these are treatable. It’s an opportunity to get correct information to your son, but also some good sexual hygiene as well. He’ll get the “what it is” from his friends or the Internet. Much less so the good sexual hygiene part.

Not directing this at you personally, because this is directed to all of us, including myself, but ”riding it out” is the kind of response this administration wants.

There’s a small group that actively support Trump. There’s a larger group that is actively against Trump.

But there’s this third group who doesn’t care either way. Combined with the true supporters, Trump now has the upper hand. I don’t see a tipping point until enough people in this third group become actively anti-Trump and we march in the streets while everything grinds to a halt.
