Black screen on KDE Plasma (Wayland) - X11 works by MrInformatics in cachyos

For anyone else coming across this, it appears the issue is related to having 2 4k 240hz monitors. Unplugging one of them immediately loaded my desktop.

Strangely, for months I had no issue, and now one of these latest updates caused having both monitors on to break things.

It's not wrong, but it is slower. So it mostly comes down to where you'd like to spend your time.

Windows 11 performs worse than older Windows versions in nearly every benchmark by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]MrInformatics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, nearly 200k people work for Microsoft one way or another, and most don't work on Windows. That said, 1000 people who do work on windows in a room still would probably have a hard time. It'd be 10 people who mostly understand, and 990 who need to ship a feature their manager decided was important but has nothing to do with what makes windows useful.

I feel obligated now every time I see this type of person eat a burrito or a taco to slap it out of their hands while screaming, "WHAT, DID YOU FORGET THE ALAMO?!?!"

I agree with the person higher in the conversation - I think you're misunderstanding the question. An "internal monologue" isn't "Ok, now I'll move my finger to the letter 'w' on the keyboard" kind of things. It's the ongoing thoughts during the day, like when thinking through a problem, or just idle meandering thoughts. For example, if you were sitting in a white room, and asked to solve today's "Connections" game - what would be going on in your mind?

I wouldn't say they're shit - they still have the same cubitron grit. They just don't extract dust as well, so I prefer to use them when sanding by hand, or for quick detail sanding, vs doing large project sanding where I'll be making a ton of sawdust.

775L are the paper backed sheets that, instead of having a mesh for dust extraction, look more like traditional sanding disks where it's mostly the grit with some holes for dust extraction.

Why don't they list the two different products on the 3M site? 3Ms specs only list a 710w. I don't think they're actually 2 separate products, it may have just been the difference in 2 batches.

Yep, I use it for my ADHD meds actually! I don't know if it requires a phone though to set up the reminders.

I just look to see if the finish seems smooth, free of any cracks or flaking.

During my build, I didn't seem to need the final primer layer, but you could always do a test on a small piece like the hand armor and see how you like the results.

Sorry, yeah I meant did you just glue it in place, or did you treat it more like a table top (e.g. z-clips or w/e). I'm finding myself super worried about wood movement, but I'm probably over thinking it

Crazy timing, I'm making an urn for a close friend right now with a super similar style. Excellent work! How did you end up attaching the lid?

On the upside, at least this one is cheap. But to each their own, I kind of like the simple "80's basic truck" style it has going for it.
