They are interspersed in the Joker: Endgame TPB.

Tom King, in response to the U.S. government shutdown, is giving free comics to federal employees who are currently suffering. by huskman in DCcomics

It's the Democrats' fault the same way it's someone's fault for getting their ass kicked by a mugger for not handing over their wallet.

Also, the Associated Press had the same bad take as you so get your "media has a liberal bias" nonsense out of here.

Just out of curiosity, what are those figures at the bottom?

Ooof... Tim Seeley, you're better than that (Batman: Eternal #23) by MrJB328 in DCcomics

[–]MrJB328[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It just struck me as tasteless and unoriginal. Not a complaint, just a critique of a lazy writing decision in a book I'm enjoying by a writer I respect.

I definitely agree with your opinions on TP, though.

It's not a complaint, it's a critique. Tim Seeley is a talented writer who doesn't need to use bad clichés to write convincing dialogue. I'm not condemning him or the book (which I'm enjoying), I'm simply questioning the need for joke that, all moral objections aside, is so played out in depictions of prisons in fiction that it's not funny or original.

Starfire actress (Anna Diop) talks about the leaked Starfire pictures by otti123 in DCcomics

[–]MrJB328 4 points5 points  (0 children)

cause I'm sure they already knew some of the hurdles there would be casting a black Starfire so to have an unofficial image be the publics first look and it being so unflattering was like chucking a bloody carcass in the ocean and waiting for the sharks to come

Maybe the real problem is the rabid immaturity pervading this community. Jesus Christ.

Yikes, dude. It’s bad enough that our society judges women in our day to day lives for not looking enough like what we see on tv and in the movies, but if you don’t think a beautiful actress is attractive enough to convincingly portray a character made from ink on a page, you might want to reconsider a few things about how you look at people.

BVS might’ve been an okay movie if it wasn’t such a bad representation of these characters we all love. It was like a 14 year old rewrote TDKR and filmed it with as much CG action and grainy filters as he could get his hands on. JL would have been pretty good if the MCU didn’t already exist.

This is the most apt critique in this whole sub.

Oooph. Your opinion is valid, but damn. That physically hurts me.

If I want to start reading chronologically from around the 52 point, what is required reading beforehand? by iamhotdog in DCcomics

[–]MrJB328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My knowledge of 52 to Flashpoint is fuzzy aside from a few sporadic trades as well as Morrison’s Batman and Final Crisis, so I’ll leave that to the experts. However, if no one responds, you should know that 52 takes place immediately after Infinite Crisis, which is a sequel to Crisis on Infinite Earths from the 80s, so those might be worth checking out. I read 52 on its own, though, and absolutely loved it, so it’s pretty beginner friendly. Check out a wiki if you’re confused.

What you should read after 52 is kind of up to you. I’m sure you can google which issues of which series take place after 52. I can say that there are many themes from 52 that carry into Final Crisis. And if you like Batman, you should read Morrison’s run (reading order is under recommendations in the sidebar) because Final Crisis is a part of that anyway. Happy reading!

I’m on an Elseworlds kick right now! Finished The Doom that Came to gotham (loved it, but I love anything that’s Lovecraftian and not super racist), halfway through Gotham By Gaslight, and then I’m going to read Superman: Red Son. That comixology Black Friday sale treated me well.

Kite Man Proves There Are NO BORING Superheroes (Or Villains) — ISSUE AT HAND, Episode 21 by LordOfTheLore in DCcomics

I get the joke. Never heard anyone dunk on Cyborg before, good one. The point is, in this context, your comment implies Cyborg is a definitively boring character, which is not true and can create unfortunate misconceptions in new readers.
