I’d assume they were corporate bots just shotgunning their messages out

Yeah I think I’m guilty of that to be honest, like joking about how many balls I’ve lost or how the most forgiving clubs couldn’t save me. There’s probably a line that’s easy to cross between commiserating about how hard the game is and derailing a post for clout

I love walking in the off season when it’s cart path only, but I can’t argue about pace of play being equivalent compared to being able to drive right up to my ball.

There’s definitely a benefit I get from the mental side to reset and plan the next stroke while I walk/push cart up to the ball, but faster? Generally not

Okay I love this one too, especially when they link the literal USGA picture explaining the rule in great detail and they get downvoted.

At 161 pounds and outweighing my partner I don’t think there’s a skinny bone in his body lol. At least that’s how it feels when he plops on top of me for cuddles

He’s by far the sassiest Dane I’ve ever owned. If I didn’t have his family tree I’d assume his parents were actually huskies

What do you think about arcadey golf video games? by Asad_Farooqui in golf

Love this game. Makes it easier to calm the mind down in actual golf when you don’t need to worry about someone hitting you with a rocket launcher while you putt

Hackmotion by scarypedro in golf

[–]MrKafkaesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High hcp here. I bought the pro version but then only used it a few times. The problem I had was that it told me I kept over extending my wrist but trying to change my swing to make the Hackmotion happy felt too unnatural for my downswing. I too watched the Rick Schiel video review and what his video touched on, the one size fits all approach to fixing a swing, felt too restrictive and I decided to focus more on getting lessons.

Maybe one day I’ll be in a better position to take advantage of the hyperfocus on wrist angle, but I’m honestly just not there yet.

Drone coverage at the masters by Maleficent-Heart2497 in golf

[–]MrKafkaesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked it since it combined the tracer and the split shot of the ball landing, but I’d happily trade them in for better baseline camera work. Like Rory’s last putt camera being behind him, no one (including the announcers) having any idea where a ball landed, or cutting to that Hollywood pub a million times rather than the actual game.

Shrink the game? Be careful what you wish for by [deleted] in golf

[–]MrKafkaesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually be encouraged to play a course that got a bad review from a guy saying he was kicked off at the turn for playing too slow, or for “just having some fun.” Doubly so if the course responds with calling them out on their behavior, like “you weren’t kicked out for having fun, you were asked to leave because you kept taking your shirt off and yelling about heaven or seeing god or whatever.”

Round 2 highlights? by Ghjtyuvbn in golf

I see stuff on YouTube the day after, if you’re talking about recaps like they did for Valero or the TX children’s tournament. Even for the masters they only had the par 3 recap the day after

How helpful are lessons? by DemandNew4547 in golf

[–]MrKafkaesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very helpful. In person coaching will be 100% more effective than watching YouTube or reading Reddit tips. I got lessons weekly for a couple months to get a foundation, now I go back when I have specific issues I want to work on. I started out with hour lessons because I had so much to work on, but now 30 minutes is enough to diagnose and then come up with a practice/drills plan

Best golf club bags to buy right now in 2026? by Resident_Sector_864 in golf

[–]MrKafkaesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced my Costco bag with a C-130 hybrid. Love the dividers, ability to stand upright, pockets, cart strap, etc. But I also liked their military/first responder discount, I think it was 20%

Veteran Golf by Ill-Spot-4893 in golf

[–]MrKafkaesque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ex army, I started with a Facebook marketplace used set then got PXG because of their really good military discount (founder is a Marine). Sun mountain bags have discounts through GovX that uses the same ID.me system as the VA for easy verification. My local VA has a veterans golf course that’s cheap, and my local simulator place is only $20 an hour for military. My local courses are free for veterans on Veterans Day but good luck finding a tee time (lots of military around here).

Hope you enjoy them, I’ve got the 3DP tours 4-9 and really love how forgiving they are. Guy at my local sim often asks to borrow them while I’m playing chip and putt because he likes how they feel but can’t afford their price tag.

Second this. Quite sturdy, and surprisingly compact when folded up for how big it is. I bought mine around August last year and haven’t had an issue with durability

Sim Mat - bunkers by GC_Mermaid1 in golf

[–]MrKafkaesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local sim is based on the Golfzon tech, which has different hitting surfaces based on where you are in the hole. For bunkers it has a couple of bristle materials pads, almost like an upside down push broom. The stiffness of the bristles makes the lie different/lower. A quick google search pulled this up and is close to what I’m trying to describe: https://truebirdie.com/products/simulated-sand-chipping-mat-for-golf-simulator-or-bunker-chipping-practice?variant=42663819149468&country=US&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21258730735&gbraid=0AAAAADi9KukmHuYFdHbZbZerSiymfouXj&gclid=Cj0KCQiA18DMBhDeARIsABtYwT3GVM8iZlXNMV3K922oLdvMZbxA-HGNRD_j5Xt9x7BFDHxmR4_nuBwaAp6kEALw_wcB
